+susieice Posted November 13, 2017 #3 Share Posted November 13, 2017 (edited) Wow. Second one today. All these poor people. Hoping for the best for all involved. The quake hit on the Pacific coast of the country and no tsunami warnings have been issued. Reuters says there are no reports as of now of any casualties or damage to infrastructure. http://www.reuters.com/article/us-costa-rica-quake/strong-quake-hits-costa-rica-no-reports-of-major-damage-idUSKBN1DD07A Edited November 13, 2017 by susieice
Sir Smoke aLot Posted November 13, 2017 #4 Share Posted November 13, 2017 Unfortunately earthquakes are not so rare at all. On bright side only few of those tend to happen in the way that endangers people or infrastructure. https://earthquaketrack.com/cr-08-san-jose/recent On this link there is nice info about earthquakes and site seems to be updated. Also, few over 7 magnitude earthquakes took place near Iran and Iraq border today. Many victims. Over 200 dead and thousands of injured people. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/middle-east/iraq-iran-earthquake-latest-today-border-dead-injured-kermanshah-rubble-damage-rescue-a8051456.html Earthquake interrupted live news program. This is sad day.
+susieice Posted November 13, 2017 #5 Share Posted November 13, 2017 Three deaths are reported from heart attacks but no other casualties have been reported. There has been structural damage. This could have been worse. Thank God it wasn't. http://www.cnn.com/2017/11/12/americas/costa-rica-earthquake/index.html
