deepthinker611 Posted November 13, 2017 #1 Share Posted November 13, 2017 Are we about to experience a swarm of volcanic eruptions? The earth has about 50 eruptions a year but most are only small and are not dangerous to life but recent reports suggest that larger volcanoes in Italy, Iceland and USA are have earthquake swarms as a precursor to eruption. If they all erupt together it would cause chaos to local habitation and also air travel and climate. What are your thoughts out there?
freetoroam Posted November 13, 2017 #2 Share Posted November 13, 2017 Unlikely they will all go off at the same time, but maybe an earthquake is our biggest threat, especially as one has hit Iran and Iraq.

How many devastating earthquakes do we get in Britain?

Every volcanic erruption is dangerous
The Silver Thong Posted November 18, 2017 #5 Share Posted November 18, 2017 It only take 2 or 3 to cause some serious crap. The one in Iceland a few years ago shut down most north American air travel. Now lets talk a mega volcano. We are fubared just one. Global temp drops 20 % and most die. No sun and no plants means no food. Can't feed a cow with ash. Not to be a fear monger but when Mount ST Helens went off in the 80,s my parents had to wipe the ash of the cars and we live 1000 km away.
Black Monk Posted November 19, 2017 #6 Share Posted November 19, 2017 Volcanoes have been erupting for billions of years. It's not a new phenomenon.

I'm not too sure we are about to experience a swarm of volcanic eruptions. But I think that if we had a whole bunch of earthquakes and several large volcanic eruptions together it probably would cause chaos to local habitation, air travel, and climate. If it were bad enough, it would also likely mess with ground logistics and commercial scale outdoor agriculture too. What reports do you have that you can share that may suggest impending earthquake and volcano swarms?
deepthinker611 Posted December 14, 2017 Author #8 Share Posted December 14, 2017 Hi rashore, you can try googling volcanoes about to blow or volcanoes about to erupt. It keeps updates of what is happening around the world. www.emsc-csem.org/Earthquake/ is good for all the earthquakes around the world.
