So now being less deceitful is still something to condemn the man for? :hmm:

?! You really shouldnt change your reaction completely after someone reacted to the reaction you now deleted. Makes a discussion pretty hard to follow.

And no, someone who is 'less deceitful' should not expect a medal. Especially when dealing with politically active individuals, and especially when dealing with the President of the United States of America.

I entirely agree there, with that article. However, the Orange Tyrant is hardly responsible for it is it (and surely the WaPo is hardly going to be used by the Tyrant as a tool of oppression). It began, at least, back with George II, and was carried out with no less enthusiasm by Barry O.

Please, please stop making this purely about Trump. I know I made the mistake putting 'Trump' in the title of this thread, but my and other's input have reiterated ad naseum our issue is with the system as a whole, no matter which talking head is put in front of the public.

And another interesting piece, this time a scientific study, probably suffering from thesame deluded scaremongering - Obama/Trump Derangement Syndrome - like people as myself seem to be suffering from. Or does that only go for Trump'ish critique? In any case; group hysteria abound! Crazy tinfoilhatters.

Quote

"Multivariate analysis indicates that economic elites and organized groups representing business interests have substantial independent impacts on U.S. government policy, while average citizens and mass-based interest groups have little or no independent influence. The results provide substantial support for theories of Economic-Elite Domination and for theories of Biased Pluralism, but not for theories of Majoritarian Electoral Democracy or Majoritarian Pluralism."

Rest assured, our anti establishment saviour Trump will turn all this Obama produce 'round, he will fight against the crony elite, for The People, and.. Make America Great Again. Oorah!

I'm going to put that on a t-shirt. It beats" Make America Great Again" any day.

It would have to be a fairly big t-shirt mind. :unsure2:

:D Think you should really add the last sentence of that post on there as well.. bolded, in red (on white). Given your pro Trump disposition and all.. I mean, whats another single sentence with a slab of txt like that.

what, Obama's "anyone who's killed within a five hundred yard radius of a Drone strike, call them the enemy, even if they're old women and kids"?

Its evil, hell you know my personal beliefs by now on the whole war on terror thing, so its definitely evil but he bore that responsibility himself.  That's what I was crediting him for, the fact that its not a 19 year old kid laying in his rack thinking about the decision he just had to make that killed that wedding party.

The most dangerous precedent we’ve seen in recent times was being mandated, forced, to buy a product from a private company with extremely limited choices depending on where you’re from. That precedent has now been reversed thank God. Name something Trump is forcing us to do.

It really bothers me that no politicians and no pundits mention how unconstitutional the rightly removed mandate is. Even Rand Paul doesn't bring it up when he talks about it. It often feels like I'm living in the Twilight Zone when it's never seen as an issue. It's worse when it won't register with self-proclaimed libertarians.

I don’t know about that PP. It’s constitutionality was heavily debated before, during and after its inception. Maybe we aren’t hearing about its constitutionality now because it’s over and done with. Thank god, good bye to it. At least now I can reconsider my insurance options and settle on whatever I want to without paying a fine. I still haven’t opened my mail to see my premium hike for the new year. It’s due soon but I just don’t want to see it.

They mentioned it before it became law. Of course, like Miss Nancy said, they had to pass it before they knew what was in it, which is a tactic that works nowhere else in the known world. After it was passed, I rarely heard any politicians or any pundits bring up our Constitution when they advocated for its repeal. I missed it if they did.

I quick google and it looks like the repeal of the Mandate in this tax bill was Paul’s doing.

That's good to hear. When I saw him on news shows, it was like he developed libertarian amnesia.

Give Paul a break. He’s been shot at and had his ass kicked pretty bad. Been a tough year for the guy.

If he has been toned down though maybe it’s because of the relief that left wing progressives aren’t wreaking havoc in power right now. A lot of republicans arent great but them being in control has probably softened his defenses a bit.

This was before all that. He didn't really sound like his dad's son when I saw him. He never mentioned the Constitution during that time (when I watched his segments). He might have ranted and raved about the unconstitutional mandate on other shows, for all I know.

Methinks Democracy is too big of a bigger tank of government for all talk of dying, it might be bent, bruised, broken, knocked up, beaten down and more.

Not to say that no one is trying to murder it in cold blood with partisanship madness, one thing that everyone surely must agree with is that Democracy in the US is sick ... deathly ill ... from hypocrisy ...

yes - but not just in the USA, its sick in other 'great' democracies as well - sovereignty of the people is, in some countries, a myth.

I know - but there is an underlying difference between majority rule and democracy - a very hard one to handle. I am not by any means saying I know the answer to it. For example - democracy is key to Northern Ireland - but many would and have argued that pure majority rule is unacceptable in that context.

I almost find the hysteria of anti Trump funny but on some levels annoying and disturbing. I see people in their 20's (either they are democrats/liberal or fans of socialism) ripping their hair out over one presidential election.

My age group were not fans of George Bush Sr., winning after Reagan left the WH.

How did we handle it?

By going to work, like we had been doing before he became President. Our lives did not come to a sudden end. The sky didn't fall on us. We came out of it just fine.

We certainly didn't obsess over it 24/7. You Trump haters need to get a grip. Sorry to sound harsh but jeez, your mass hate filled rants show a lack of ability to think in a rationale manner.

Those of you that wanted that other candidate to win were all cheers when she said to "not accept the election results was a threat to our democracy."

And you cheered that only because you believed the msm's "poll numbers" that said Trump had a 3% chance of winning. Ok, so you believed it and had the shock of your life. Well, that's what happens when you listen to con artists.

As for an ambassador, really? You're gonna get worked up over that? Seems you just hate Trump so you getting upset means nothing at this point because you get upset about everything. I raised a child and I can tell you, children get upset at just about everything that doesn't go their way.

You make yourself look childish. Sorry, but you do.

It would help others to take you seriously if you didn't include name calling (like the media are doing) when you try to make your point(s).

Calling President Trump an idiot and evil is humorous at best. He's either one or the other.

Abe Lincoln was also vilified when he won. He was called stupid (he only had 4 months of school, taught himself to read), a coward. A threat to our country (really just a threat to slave owners aka, democrats for you history buffs). It turned out that he was a damn good President despite all the bad press.

The press are not the gate keepers nor should they have that level of influence. They were bias then as they clearly are now.

Bash me if you like because yes, I am glad Bernie and HRC didn't win.

HRC is as crooked as one can get. Bernie, ha! Living the high life while wanting to raise my taxes "for my own good" (his words, on video, can't be disputed) while he owns property I could never afford. He's no champion of the people. But ok. Think what you will.

Anywho, I'm sure the witch hunters will throw stones at me for my honesty because it doesn't fit the msm narrative.

I'm old enough to have seen a lot more than those just out of high school and it's my belief that you can learn from older generations. We do actually know a thing or two about our Republic and yes, our country is a Republic, not a democracy.

Let the stone throwing begin.

The federal government can't force us to buy goods and services. There is absolutely nothing in the Constitution that gives that power to them. You should be on my side on this since you're a libertarian. It's a moot point now.

Yes us "Trump haters" all just quit our jobs and spend all day in lamentations

Your entire post is based on the supposition that Trump is just like Bush Sr. , that Trump is somehow normal. To think the response to Trump is a political reaction is truly missing the mark. Its a human reaction to a man who has for decades been known as a racist con man with mob ties taking over the most powerful office in the world and its a continued reaction to the juvenile, oligarchical, and frankly bizarre behavior which is continuously coming from team Trump.

Its not only abnormal, its unsafe.

Worried??

That would've been my feeling if she had won but ok.

Your fears are based on what again?

CNN coverage of how many diet cokes President Trump drinks?

Or does it worry you he donated his presidential salary to charity? Yup, that's scary.

Or are your fears based on the opinion of the gals on the view?

Or Rosie O'Donnell because she isn't off her rocker.

Or you worry because he isn't a life long professional criminal aka, politician?

I'd be willing to bet just a mere 3 or 4 years ago you had no hate for Trump at all. None. Nadda ounce.

And if he was everything you and the media claim he is the whole world would've known about it all years and years ago.

Trump haters are showing just how disconnected they are from reality.

Go on and hate that's fine because I love it when your side tries to tell everyone how "love trumps hate" (are you guys still using that lame slogan) and then you think violence against those that don't agree with you is ok.

Can't take your side seriously anymore.

Clinton's return white houae furniture

And.....

Clinton scandal

Yes, she would've made a "fine" president.

I think you anti Trump kids just wanted to see a female President. Not the right woman or a woman of good moral character, just A FEMALE PRESIDENT.

Why? Who knows? Maybe it's because you've been told that in school and on television.

You would be correct it has been his governance which has led me to this point.

I did have a serious dislike of him though. I generally do of ignorant, mouthy people who have never had to work a day in their lives.

Despite that during the election I actually rooted for him to win. I couldn't look myself in the mirror had I voted for either of the candidate's so I went third party though.

Actually I worry because he is a life long professional con man who appears to be performing a long grift.

Um , actually we have known.

We've known he has racist tendencies since the 70's when he was busted for racist renting practices and in the early 90's when he conceded a quote about black people being lazy and jews being good with money was accurate, we've known he's a conman since Trump steaks and we've known he's a pathological liar even longer.

My fears for our republic are based on real issues, not the fun ones.

He surrounded himself with criminals

He has placed severely unqualified ideologues in all levels of government

He has encouraged racism (see Joe Arapaio)  - I'm sure you're gonna argue this but when the KKK is supporting your guy you might want to reexamine who you're standing with

The constant and non stop lying.. "Alternative facts" Seriously ,within a couple of days of taking the presidency his people are on TV talking about "alternative facts" ? That's Orwellian crap right there.

GW Bush gave a speech not too long ago in which he lamented the introduction of casual cruelty into the political discourse (really was a great speech, had to be written by Peggy Noonan) and I think that has the potential to be the downfall for the US.  Trump wallows in and encourages in others that casual cruelty and it truly has harmed this nation.

Now his attempting to somehow delegitimize the FBI in an attempt to save himself and friends is simply classic strong man behavior.

The rise of whataboutism!!!!

This isn't normal, this isn't politics as usual.
