UM-Bot Posted January 1, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 1, 2018 The ambitious mission, if successful, will achieve what no other country has ever managed to do. http://www.unexplained-mysteries.com/news/314539/china-set-to-visit-the-far-side-of-the-moon

Aardvark-DK Posted January 2, 2018 #3 Share Posted January 2, 2018 Hope they will discover all the alien bases ! (sarcasm might be implied here...)
Calibeliever Posted January 2, 2018 #4 Share Posted January 2, 2018 (edited) I guess we'll know shortly if there are bases or not. If the lander makes it there without any mysterious "accidents" that cause it to blow up or crash, then I'm guessing no aliens (or other interested parties) were there to shoot it down. Partly true, it's good that the Chinese are taking part in lunar exploration, it's not true that the others haven't left off. 4 minutes ago, aearluin said: To bad NASA and ESA chose to leave the moon behind Untrue. NASA has sent multiple probes to lunar orbit over the last few years, including the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, launched in 2007 and which continues to take the highest resolution images of the Moon ever obtained, the Gravity Recovery And Interior Laboratory (GRAIL) mission which measured differences in gravity and therefore explore beneath the lunar surface and the Lunar Atmosphere and Dust Environment Explorer (LADEE) mission which explored the extremely tenuous lunar atmosphere. NASA also provided instruments for India's Chandrayaan-1 lunar orbiter Further more, only a few weeks ago the Trump administration announced plans to return US astronauts to the Moon. ESA, meanwhile, is a partner in the Russia's plans to restart their robotic exploration of the Moon. ESA also has plans to build a manned lunar base in co-operation with China. 23 minutes ago, aearluin said: Funding doesn't seem to be s big problem fof thd chinese at this point. Also untrue. NASA's budget is larger than the of Russia's, China;s ESA's and Japan's combined.
