What Millennials really Think of Donald Trump

I had to laugh...there was a picture of Bernie giving a speech wearing a $1000 jacket. Not exactly a practice-what-you-preach kinda guy.

Choice between the Global Dictatorship (Cabal/Establishment), Local Narcissist Leadership propped up by Putin, I choose neither.

Here's another that has bought into the kool-aid.  Apart from being confused on a few things, why would Putin back Trump?  What more could some "political unknown" offer than Hilary?  Does anybody bother to think these things out?

From the speeches and general observation he was wearing a navy blazer and not really expensive clothing however. Even if he did, what is he being hypocritical about? Not getting your jab on Bern here. That he has one expensive jacket in the closet he pulls out for special event? You find that funny and that one thing destroys everything else he does?

Weird freaking logic. If he was driving around a fuel guzzeling hummer, sure okay.

I am an old guy.  I would like some fresh ideas now, not in 10 years.  Gen-X ers and millennials, you are smart enough; if you want to do it.  It won't be easy.  The establishment was old and powerful when I was a kid.  Outsiders have a lot to overcome.

If it's any consolation, you sound like a young guy. As for political leaders, I would rather have an eighty-year-old with new ideas than an eighteen-year-old with old ideas.

I'm curious about what the millennials think about the baby boomers.  I see the snowflake and crybaby jabs from the baby boomers both here and on my Facebook.  But the millennials seem to responding with stuff like, "We should cut social security to pay the deficit, baby boomers had their whole lives to earn the money with the jobs they brag about."

I'd like to think it was just isolated back and forth, but if the bulk of the millennials feel this way then I see a potentially painful future for some of our elderly.

We need GOOD, new ideas (sometimes that's just good old ideas).  It doesn't matter what the age is as long as it is pro-American and does not take a back seat to self-interest.  We don't need any ideas just for idea's sake.

We also need good actions with those good ideas. Talking and thinking have less meaning without doing. Put the ideas into actions. We don't keep medicine in a locked safe when we're sick.

Correct!  We need to think the ideas through first and consider the implications.  Not just try to go for the knee-jerk solutions that lead to more government control.  It's like the Big Pharma paradigm.  Take a pill for some disease then you need another pill to ease the side effects of the first pill, then another pill for another side effect.  No wonder that Americans are unhealthy.  This is the socialist playbook.  Sure, there are times when you need to just get something in place to quickly replace something else, but you can't just walk away.  You need to figure out what you're going to do when that first something reaches its end-of-life before it happens.  Unfortunately, that has been the status quo of both parties following in the footsteps of the great Native American chief, Iwalkaway.

well Trump's trying his best to do something about that, isn't he... :)

but draining the swamp  isn't easy and the political elite are fighting back with everything they have to retain power -

will the majority of the younger generation ever be allowed to understand the seismic shift in politics that DJT has spearheaded -
practically single handed -- by sheer force of will and determination --

who can forget the rousing inauguration speech -

I'm sorry, what?  Replacing the political elite?  All he's doing is putting the billionaires that were lining the pockets of the political elite in positions of even higher power.  Essentially, he is cutting out the middle man, and turning his "swamp" into a sewer, all put in place to appease himself, and other billionaires.

I’m a baby boomer but I have to agree with Millennials (if that’s what they say – I have not heard them say it but I’m just going with it).  However, you can’t just cut the SS of those that have spent a lifetime paying into it.  It’s not their fault, the government forced them to do it.  I’m sure that if most had a choice, they would have gone with a 401 or something instead.  When it comes to things like SS, it has to be phased out.  But also with the amount of IOUs in the treasury, there’s not that much in the coffers to pay down the debt anyway – not deficit.  It has to be terminated with entry level MOWs followed by a phased program to wean more vested members off.  SS was a good idea but it wasn’t thought out too well.  As with most socialist programs, it forgets human nature.  Government should not be an enabler of crutches.  Each and every American is a valuable resource, not a cog in a collective.  SS is a socialist tentacle that is so intertwined into our system, you just can’t rip it out without destroying other things (and not just baby boomers).  This is the reason that the government should never get in the business of giving things to the people, because there will always come the time that that government must and will take it away.  That ultimately defeats all five charges of the US government.

Is it a coincidence that so many in the cabinet were involved in Russia?  Everyone knows the key to Trump's heart, and it is flattery.  You praise the man, you are OK in his book.  Another reason to back him would be to divide America.  Many people are anti-Trump, but that has nothing to do with politics.  People thought Trump was an idiot if they watched a single episode of The Apprentice.  People thought Trump was an idiot when they watched his Twitter videos discussing Kristen Stewart and Edward Pattison's breakup.  People thought Trump was an idiot when he championed the birther movement.  People have thought Trump was an idiot for decades.  Russia knew he would divide a nation, especially with Steve Bannon by his side.  A divided nation is a weak nation.  Now we have Russia supplying North Korea with oil.  Do you think that's an accident?  Russia wanted whoever would make America the weakest.

I'd rather have a 45 year old with newer ideas rooted in experience of old ideas.

Eh, I guess the logic was that they (baby boomers) created the debt so they should pay with their lifetime government savings or what not.  A good portion of the debt is towards social security after all.  Granted this was all just talk from people responding to snowflake taunts.

I'm not a millennial but I definitely understand the frustration you're talking about as it relates to boomers. The vast majority simply have no idea how the world operates for people starting out today. Ask some of them how much they paid for their first house, car and college education. Oh and the pension they're retired on after working for the same company for 20 years is something which the vast majority of Americans don't dare even dream about.

Their lives are in no way relational to what those costs have ballooned to today and yet their worldview demands that people operate as if the world hasn't changed since the 1960's.

Don't get me wrong I'm in no way saying cut social security, just saying I could understand lashing out with that kind of threat in a moment of frustration.

Try again.  SS began in 37(?) under FDR.  That’s where this debt started.  And now, the government needs to find an equitable way to end it.  It is a Ponzi scheme but it wasn’t our choice to get into it.  I wish you had understood what I wrote (oh well).  The lion’s share is taken up by all the social programs.  Government should only be spending on defense and general welfare, which includes the debt.  The only duty of government is to protect the security of its citizens, not nanny or enslave them.  True, it stems from a taunt but it’s based on a serious matter.

Apparently the previous President of the United States, voted Most Admired Man in this poll. Unusual for a current President not to be on top. You really need to catch up.

Tiny Hands ego must be damaged, trying to overcompensate with bigger button tweets.

Wow!  You do know agent orange is a defoliant, not snuff??  Is it a coincidence that pretty much the entire government was involved in Russia?  Do you really think Putin has shown flattery to Trump?  That is so laughable.  Trump was also showing flattery to Putin.  Neither was flattering the other.  It was all a game of niceties.

Another reason to back him would be to divide America.

Why should Putin want to divide America?  Under Obama and Hilary, the store would be open for business.  Why destroy a resource (golden goose) and a dupe to play?

Many people are anti-Trump, but that has nothing to do with politics.  People thought Trump was an idiot if they watched a single episode of The Apprentice.

If they thought Trump was an idiot from watching just one episode, they didn’t understand character.  I only watched a couple of episodes and I could see the genius of this man.

People thought Trump was an idiot when they watched his Twitter videos discussing Kristen Stewart and Edward Pattison's breakup.

I just saw a typical tweet on something nonsensical in pop culture.  Does the President need to be *Presidential* on everything?  It’s like you’ve never seen sarcasm.  Like it never happens here.  The President that embraces the latest media technology and masters it has a great advantage.  Who can out do Trump?  It allows him to bypass the MSM and go directly to the people.

People thought Trump was an idiot when he championed the birther movement.

He still has a point.  The records have never been forensically confirmed.  That’s the only way to put this to bed.  However, at this point in time, the point is moot.  It now doesn’t matter.  You’re the only one still hung up on it.  I believe that even Sheriff Joe Arpaio has moved on.

People have thought Trump was an idiot for decades.

And that’s why they continue to underestimate him.

Russia knew he would divide a nation, especially with Steve Bannon by his side.  A divided nation is a weak nation.

Russia knew all of that?  It’s not Trump that is dividing the nation.  Trump is revealing the poison tearing this nation apart.  And he’s putting pressure on these groups that they are close to collapse.  He’s got the MSM and Progressives going every which way.  The MSM releases fake news and when it’s proved wrong, they still go with it.  First the Progressives don’t like the tax plan, now they are falling all over themselves trying to support it.  He’s exposing the DeepState and soon the rank and file will be mutinying against their bureaucrats.  This next year is going to be fun.  I’d say that in the end, he will bring this nation together.  Obama was the one trying to tear this nation to pieces.  Anarchy was just one event away.

Now we have Russia supplying North Korea with oil.  Do you think that's an accident?  Russia wanted whoever would make America the weakest.

I guess I missed something.  I thought it was China supplying NK with oil??  If it is Russia, isn’t it a bit premature for Putin to stop giving Trump flattery?  That doesn’t sound very smart.  This country is far from being destroyed.  Putin wouldn’t be discarding an ace just to sell a bit of oil to NK.  America is getting stronger, if you haven’t noticed.

I think you are just sick, mentally ill.  I suppose this is Trump Derangement Syndrome.

Its truly not as black and white as you try and make it seem.

Without healthcare no one can be secure, as for the debt by ignoring healthcare before the age of medicare and social security all you're doing is ensuring that the debt will balloon by having an unhealthy populace entering the government doles.

Ironically while the GOP railed against the Obamacare mandate , that mandate itself was designed to help the overall budget in the long run.
