What Millennials really Think of Donald Trump

Space Commander Travis

Recommended Posts

You thought millennials were all Hillary lovers who would rather eat their own Labrador than consider doing anything than voting Democrate, let alone be prepared to consider any possible circumstances where they might be prepared to express anything other than absolute hatred about America's current President, Donald J. Trump? Well, you might be surprised according to a new survey from CNN or NBC or whatever it is! :D

Millennials don’t like Trump. Here’s how they say he could win them over.

"I'm not a Trump fan, but I like some of the stuff he's doing," said Taylor Smith, a 23-year-old Republican from Georgia. "I just don’t like the way he's going about it."

"NBC News/GenForward polling found that millennials are generally mistrustful and disdainful of both parties and government. Sixty percent of poll respondents said they disapprove of the way Congress is handling its job, and on the whole millennials don't think either party cares about people like them. Fifty-nine percent have a negative view of the GOP, while 42 percent have an unfavorable view of the Democratic Party."

So...with the graph included in the article, it shows a 22% approval rating among millennials.  So, what exactly are we supposed to be surprised about?  That the approval rating among millennials for Trump is about 14% below the average of other polls?  Ummm...ok.

What about the relative approval ratings of the parties, don't you think that's interesting, or are we just going to be sarcastic?

Well, DJT is a low fellow, and we certainly don't want a low fellow in the White House; what will the neighbors think?

My forum New Year's resolution is to be nicer to Millennials. ;) Seriously, generations never have been monolithic, and this is especially true when it comes to political and social beliefs. There are general trends, but these trends can be distorted, as well as exaggerated, by the media. I think that this news story is close to the truth. Millennials and Generation Z contain conservative people who reject and renounce extreme PC nonsense, but some of them go too far to the right as a form of unwise compensation. This seems to happen with each generation to a certain extent, and it often happens during electoral cycles. The pendulum swings from left to right most of the time. It almost never stands still.

I don't think that's new news.  It's pretty well documented that millennials have poor views of both parties, the House, the Senate, and the government altogether.

And the title said Trump..not political parties..

What ever happened to generation-X-ers? I feel like we've been leapfrogged, we should be entering our time to dictate policy next going by age. I'm borderline with millennials, X-ennial, don't fit in either group.

I hope some younger people start winning, the old guard seems to be so outdated in policies, part of establishment. But there are so many baby boomers who gleefully vote for someone like Trump, who is there age. We should see a major shift once the baby boomers pass on, 10-15 years? 2030?

I am an old guy.  I would like some fresh ideas now, not in 10 years.  Gen-X ers and millennials, you are smart enough; if you want to do it.  It won't be easy.  The establishment was old and powerful when I was a kid.  Outsiders have a lot to overcome.

Its very interesting and encouraging.

It also largely fits with my personal experiences with the millennial age group. I did some cooking again a while back which gave me the opportunity to work with a younger demographic and I ended up being very impressed with the awareness they demonstrated.

The downside to that awareness though very well could be that we end up with an entire generation of folks who simply don't engage in the political process because it has become so blatantly obvious that it is corrupt. (yes even going back to the pre trump days LOL )

well Trump's trying his best to do something about that, isn't he... :)

but draining the swamp  isn't easy and the political elite are fighting back with everything they have to retain power -

will the majority of the younger generation ever be allowed to understand the seismic shift in politics that DJT has spearheaded -
practically single handed -- by sheer force of will and determination --

who can forget the rousing inauguration speech -

Perhaps as time goes on many millenials will realise they have been used...
and shamelessly had their perception managed by the Mind Control Media etc...

 the bolded below says it all - - that is exactly what the whole anti Trump psychological operation aims for -

knee jerk reaction and blind obedience to the indoctrination -

https://townhall.com/tipsheet/leahbarkoukis/2017/10/20/millennials-love-trump-tax-plan-n2398095

Liberals apparently love some elements of President Trump’s tax plan—that is, when they think it’s actually Sen. Bernie Sanders’s plan.

~~~~~~~~~~
“I’m shocked that I do agree with Trump on certain things,” one student replied.
In the end they all acknowledged their bias toward anything related to Trump.
"I definitely think there's an initial bias, I mean I've done it myself, I'll just hear the word 'Trump' and think, 'ugh.'"
I think this (this bit anyway, in bold) is the whole point.  The Trump is seen by so many as uniquely evil on a scale never before seen, but his "evil", his attitudes to women and all the rest of it, that's, well, essentially unimportant, when the real evil is in the establishment, the Washington elite, the sinister cabal pulling the strings or whatever you like, the ones that are behind the disasters that Washington has inflicted on the world in the name of the American people. And that's something that the Anti-trump resistance seemed to be happy to condone, or turn a blind eye to, under his predecessor. And they - the Establishment - seem as intent almost on bringing down Trump as they did to bring down Assad, or are keen to do now to Iran.
oh and another thing :) -- the Globalists - the Political Elite who hate Trump and want to micro manage your perceptions,
thoughts and behaviour - the ones leading the Agenda --
they are probably old -- very old -- maybe older than you can begin to imagine - maybe 120 + years old -
beginning each day with a nice refreshing drink of babies blood to pump up the stem cells and the telomeres -:passifier:
and with that speculative thought I will wish you a Happy New Year -- :lol:
I worry about the younger generations just like all those my age, especially when you see many cry about not having safe places all the while rioting and burning everything in sight not respecting the safe places of others.  You wonder where the best of these generations are?  They are not in the colleges.  They are out there, you have to look to places like the battlefields of Afghanistan.  For it'll be these that will have the resolve to lead their generations and the country into the future.  The question will be how powerful will the Establishment be after Trump dismantles it?  It will take old and young generations working together to right this nation and free us from the grips of socialism.  2017 was a good year in the war and can only get better in 2018 simply by shear stubbornness.  People may not like that but it's the only way and Trump is the perfect person in the role.
Choice between the Global Dictatorship (Cabal/Establishment), Local Narcissist Leadership propped up by Putin, I choose neither.
Either more power to the States to decide how they govern themselves, or whatever Germany is doing (right ratio or free-market and certain social benefits).
It baffles me the fear of any type of "socialism". I find both extremes of unregulated capitalism and state run socialism extremely bad and to be avoided. Yet somehow, maybe because one thinks one is really bad, therefore the other extreme is really good. I think this thinking stems from an outdated and faulty "either... or" logic which necessarily has to have a good side and bad side, and fails to see the grey scale spectrum in between. Socialism bad, capitalism good. It's such a primitive type of thinking. I would hope we get past it but doesn't look like it with the baby boomer generation.
I'd take any of these as President over Tiny Hands: Make Myself Great and Compromised Clinton.
Independent Bernie Sanders (People choice, not Global Elitists, not Putin)
Independent Michael Bloomberg (Presidential, 3 time mayor of NYC, self made Billionaire 10 times wealthier than Tiny Hands)
Republican Romney (Presidential, I guess more part of establishment, could not win due to being Mormon possibly)
You know there are settings on Facebook, Reddit or any of your social media profiles that filter out content you don't want, so I control or at least push the "thought narrative" I surround myself with.
People join niche groups online and turn more extreme (for example, The_Donald subreddit) a cesspool mixed in with Russian trolls.
I do enjoy your sense of humor : ) Happy New Year to you too.
Have you ever seen less compassion in someone's eyes? Personal feelings about Mr. Soros aside, this picture is reminiscent of a serial killer. Just cold, sharp, uncaring eyes. Yeesh
We have memes on our side and that can't be understated. No, seriously. The nu-Left sucks at humor because they are restrained by PC crap. Weak, predictable jokes by weak, predictable people. They have become the new "Church ladies" in that they want to control sex, humor, health and language. Trust me: this is driving people to the right in droves. A handful of California Professors have managed to sour an entire political party's agenda, with lots of help from Hillary Clinton. There are no heroes left in the DNC, save for maybe Bernie Sanders but even he's wrapped up in lawsuits and controversy like the rest of them.
The radical lefties like ANTIFA and hardcore feminists gave the pendulum a really hard shove - that can only mean it's going to swing back with equal force as a whole generation of young men are rebelling. Conservatism is the new counter-culture. We still have a lot of work to do but it will be done as free people and, unlike the nu-Left, we can actually have fun doing it :tu: The war of ideals will be fought and won online which is why I'm confident this ship is turning around.
