For the last 22 years Marcio Mizael Matolias, 44, has lived inside his sand castle surrounded by books, golf clubs and fishing poles on the beach of Barra da Tijuca in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Neighbors and friends call him 'The King'.

Matolias has no problems assuming a regal air. He is only too willing to pose on his sand castle throne - scepter in hand - to pose for photos  in front of his sandcastle.

Because 'King Marcio' does not have the same staff complement as other royal families, he is personally responsible for repairs - whether it is retouching dungeon doors or reinforcing damaged ramparts. He also waters his fortress to ensure that it does not collapse.

He sure is a talented and patient man, but he had 22 to build the sand castle.

But it appears, unlike the title and part of the article suggests,  he does not live in his sandcastle structure:

It clearly states that below.

His house - small by most royal family standards - adjoins his sand structures

Marcio Mizael Matolias lives next to his remarkable sand structures

So although i give credit to this man with the time on his hands  (22 years) and being lucky to live on the beach to be able to build this magnificent sand castle,  he does not live in it.

Oh yeah...seems he build it around him. Could not do that in England, apart from the weather you got the local council who will insist it gets pulled down if they can not get council tax off you

Or at the Jersey Shore because the Teamsters who will set up a inflatable rat then get you bulldozed under it because it wasn't built by union labor.
