bison Posted January 25, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 25, 2018 (edited) Human fossils found at Mount Carmel, in Israel have humans migrating out of Africa much earlier than previously confirmed. The newly discovered fossils appear to be approximately 175 to 200 thousand years old. That could double, or nearly so, the age of human expansion outside Africa. This may not be the end of the story, either. Human remains from Morocco were announced earlier this year, with an age of about 300 thousand years. Given Morocco's position on the edge of Africa adjacent to Europe, an even earlier date for the human departure from Africa may eventually be uncovered.
