A visually impaired man with a phobia of dogs has become the first person in Britain to receive a guide HORSE.

BBC journalist Mohammed Salim Patel picked eight-month-old American miniature horseDigby to assist him on a daily basis.

The 23-year-old, from Blackburn, Lancashire, will now get help with regular household chores from Digby, who will help his new owner just like any guide dog.

I think its ****ing ridiculous. - a guide Horse. Does he really have a phobia of Dogs or is just because he's possibly a follower of the Islamic religion.

A blind man who has a fear of dogs is set to receive Britain’s first guide horse. Two-year-old Digby, a two foot tall American miniature horse from Northallerton, Yorkshire, has spent the last year in training.

Once fully trained, he will begin living with Mohammed Salim Patel, from Blackburn, Lancashire, and start assisting him with day-to-day tasks just like a guide dog would.

He's "afraid of dogs" ? And he's a muslim ? Are we QUITE sure this isn't all about the Koranic imperative to avoid (indeed, to kill) dogs ?

Notwithstanding, the horse is kinda amazing.

But... will it be allowed in shops and busses ?

Well, you can't housebreak them, but stallions do like going in the same spot. Mares on the other hand are a mess.

Rein in the attempted humour, it’s a bit much.
