Tests carried out at Manchester University revealed the object’s shell contained lead and the copper parts were of unusual high purity. But a metallurgist concluded it could not have arrived on Earth from space as there was no evidence it had been exposed to high temperatures.

Copper parts of high purity would have to have been exposed to high temperatures.

Please cite that from a metallurgy source, including defining 'high' purity numerically.  Also explain why you would raise that, given that being exposed to high temperatures at the time of formation and then being exposed at a later date are two very different things.

It would be nice to get some images of the leaflets inside if they actually exist. Reminds me of another story that gets told a lot in Utah....

Well technically it doesn't "solve" the mystery...it just adds extra information and opinions to the case.

No I am not a proponent for saying it is extra terrestrial in origin, but I am a proponent for saying "just because some lazy hack at the Yorkshire post wants to headline it as such, does not automatically close the case".

Ok let's play devils advocate for a moment, suppose this had been "inside" a spacecraft that came to Earth and it was deposited from said vessel within our atmosphere.....therefore there would be no sign of heat damage from atmospheric entry, or other higher temperatures / radiation sources exposed to on the journey the same as the spacecraft occupants would have been exposed to, and would no doubt have been protected from inside the vessel....not so easily closed is it?

Again, not subscribing to this theory but I think investigation should go beyond the opinion of the friggin Yorkshire Post....

There are no high temperatures involved when processing copper to high purity copper, the process get executed by ambient temperatures (more or less).
