+and-then Posted February 11, 2018 #4 Share Posted February 11, 2018 That area is said to have had historic snowfall this year but if the plane was in flames on the way down it doesn't sound like weather caused it. Mechanical failure or terror is more likely.
GlitterRose Posted February 11, 2018 #5 Share Posted February 11, 2018 They're citing weather conditions and pilot error as possible factors, but witnesses said the plane was on fire. What kind of pilot error makes a plane catch on fire?
Buzz_Light_Year Posted February 11, 2018 #6 Share Posted February 11, 2018 I've read the crash was spread out over a wide area and that usually means it broke apart in flight.
GlitterRose Posted February 11, 2018 #7 Share Posted February 11, 2018 I just hope they don't blame the pilot if they weren't responsible. It's bad enough that all those people died, but that would be even worse for the pilot's family.

Still Waters Posted February 13, 2018 Author #9 Share Posted February 13, 2018 Quote Speed sensors that were iced over may have caused a passenger jet to crash near Moscow, killing all 71 people on board, investigators say. The faulty instruments could have indicated wrong speed data, Russia's Interstate Aviation Committee said. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-43048921 It's still just a "may be" at the moment.
