But there is a lot of chaos to get to that point. I'm not sure I would wish it on anyone. Sort of a rabit hole of sorts. But yes. Absolutely amazing. My default dream "setting" is lucid dreaming so when I have a non lucid dream it's either a drug induced nightmare (surgical drugs) or it's a precognitive dream or one of significance. Lucid dreaming is entertainment and non lucid means somethings up to put it simpler. As for spirit guides the first time was under regression hypnosis and my spirit guide then was my Moms dog who had passed on. I also have a human guide and she did come in dreams. I have a visualization for pain routine and it's a mix of self hypnosis and guided visualization which includes a room that I go to. I created it as a safe space and go there before any regression work. She's met me there a few times and it's always a surprise when she shows up. The visualization I do is for chronic pain from a birth defect and it helps so that I don't take any pain meds. I liked it when you said lucid dreaming is your default and medication or illness can cause regular type of dreaming instead. I noticed if I take a medications for injury and muscle cramps, at times I have a drug induced regular type of dreams too. I don't have nightmares at all though. Drugs are very detrimental to the state of mind you need to experience real guides and interacting with them and even regular forms of meditation IMO. Some people like having a TV on when they sleep. That also influences your dreams. I just call it stupid dreams when you are seeing what your subconscious is playing out to kind of download and sort out your thoughts and experiences of the day to become part of memory and such to your brain. I think that normal dreaming can put you into touch with some realities that your subconscious is privy to that you aren't aware of when you are awake. Guides may be one of them to appear in a dream, but I think it's your perceptions of them and not the actual guide itself in normal dreams. I prefer lucid dreaming and that is my norm because I'm always in control, not just a participant in a subconscious creation of thoughts emotions and experiences playing out in an automatic way.
