SHaYap Posted March 10, 2018 #1 Share Posted March 10, 2018 Quote 'Pharma Bro' Shkreli sentenced to 7 years for defrauding investors World Saturday, 10 Mar 2018 5:09 AM MYT By brendan pierson ___________________ NEW YORK (Reuters) - Martin Shkreli, the former drug company executive who made headlines by jacking up the price of a lifesaving drug before he was found guilty of defrauding investors, was sentenced to 7 years and a $75,000 fine on Friday. The sentence from U.S. District Judge Kiyo Matsumoto in federal court in Brooklyn, New York, was shorter than the 15 years asked for by prosecutors but much longer than the 12 to 18 months Shkreli's lawyers had sought. Shkreli did not visibly react as the sentence was announced. Shkreli's lawyer, Benjamin Brafman, told reporters after the hearing that he was "disappointed" by the sentence. Hankenhunter Posted March 10, 2018 #4 Share Posted March 10, 2018 (edited) "The judge handed a box of kleenex to a tearful Skreli". That's when she should have added, " That will be $ 1,000 dollars for the Kleenex Mr. Skreli, per sheet. Oh, well, I'm sure he'll be popular when when the prison pop. finds out how many people died because of Skreli's outrageous mark up of an important HIV drug. That and he has the most punchable face in the country, or so I've heard. I guess karma went the the round about route this time.
