Hi there,

Hope this is ok and if not then sincere apologies.

Big fan of the site and both unexplained and true crime. I've decided to start my own podcast on Nordic True Crime, as there is not much out there in English for you guys that can't speak a Nordic language.

I am a complete novice!. This is totally new for me and I guess I will get better with time, learning episode by episode. The first episode just dropped a few days ago. If Nordic True Crime is something that interests you then I will be very happy if you give a listen to my podcast.

Thank you very much,

The second episode is out tomorrow :-)

Welcome to UM Nordic :st Glad to have a new fan of true crime around, and appreciate your sharing. We don't often get a lot of reports out of the Nordic lands in the TC area.

However, please keep in mind that not everyone is willing or able to blind-click on links. Could you give us a description of your podcast and let us know what you think as well as posting the podcast itself please? If you could provide text links, news stories, and such when you post a description and podcast that would be great too.

Thank you for the nice welcome!

I'd be happy to give you more details about the podcast. Basically it is a weekly podcast covering crimes throughout Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark and Iceland.

I myself am born and raised in one of the Nordic countries and although there is many podcast about true crime here, it is generally in the native language of the Nordic country in question - so not much use for most of you guys if you can't speak the language!

So I decided to do a weekly podcast in English about famous and not so famous crimes from the Nordics.

There isn't much in English online about my first episode but there is a little. Please read about episode one below. I've also included the English Wikipedia link.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Bobby_Äikiä

The murder of Bobby Äikiä (12 March 1995 – 14 January 2006) occurred in Sweden, when Äikiä, a 10-year-old Swedish boy. He suffered from Fragile X syndrome.[1] Äikiä was left to freeze after being tied to a chair and thrown out of his house by his stepfather Eddy Larsson. He was reported missing by his mother Niina Äikiä, who claimed he had disappeared after a visit to the Bäckebol shopping centre near Gothenburg.

The next episode will be out this week.

Thanks again!

If you don' want to blindly click links then you can search for Nordic True Crime on iTunes or podbean ☺

Interesting case.. It appears to have been solved, what did you want to discuss about it?
