Rhyme Time

F3SS

Recommended Posts

Inspired by something entirely

Normal and boring and totally me

It is what it is so just let it be

I’m going for something way out of my realm

But I’m grabbing the reigns and I’m taking the helm

This is a thread that you should not dread

Just give us whatever pops up in your head

Let’s make it last through one hundred pages

One that will reach and last through the ages

So let’s hear your story or tell us a tale

Just make it rhyme or it counts as a fail

A tale you want, so a Tale you get

About the night that a ghost and I met

In an abandoned place supposedly haunted

I went in to hunt, so bold and Undaunted

I had my ghost buster recorder to catch EVP

In case I could catch a ghost talking to me

I actually got one, Lo and Behold

A ghost on tape so clear it was solid gold

"You better be hunting with poo-pourri

Or serious dread comes soon" it said to me!

How very obscure, how truly bizarre

Words like that from beyond the Veil so far.

What could it mean? What strange fate did it foretell?

Was it possible that a ghost could possibly smell?

Then such a dread filled the place if a nose could fear

It became plain that ghost took a dump very near

The stench was beyond hellish and then it farted

and I fled for door to become the rapidly departed.

Now I cannot say that I know if the dead still can smell

But, that was the night I got a whiff of hell.

I found this great website to stave off my boredom

I came for the mystery, but stayed for the forum

There's scholar and crackpot; believer and skeptic

The subjects we cover are truly eclectic

For a long time I read but I didn't reply

I'm quiet and retiring, have always been shy

I've found a few folks that I really admire,

I've found a few others that cause me to tire.

So I keep coming back and spending my time,

But seldom before entered  comment in rhyme.

Thank you my friend for starting this thread

Far better than cursing write poetry instead.

I woke up this morning and thought to myself

I hope that this thread don’t sit on the shelf

The two posts above fit like a glove

Into this thread that I started in bed

The OP of this rhyming thread

"It all has to rhyme" is what he said.

Yet here he goes and we all catch

The rhymes he uses do not match!

They certainly do

Try reading again for time number two

when one does a rhyme

one also keeps time

if the rest are the end

change is not your friend

a rhyme in the middle is not one at all

one can't cheat to be neat.

Look I’m not here to master a skill

This isn’t some dream that I’m out to fulfill

I thought this of all threads that no one would bicker

Must you be such a nag and a stickler

You might be good but you’re not perfect either

That said I would never call you a cheater

It would seem that in prose or a rhyme

No one can take a joke when it is time

I will take my love for word play

And use them elsewhere another day.

  • 3 weeks later...

Spiderman Spiderman

Washed his knickers in a frying pan

When that's done

Wiped his bum

On a piece of chewing gum
