Africa Is Splitting

The horn of Africa is splitting from the continent. It will take about 10 million years before the ocean moves in and claims it as an island, but scientists are able now to study the forces that cause land masses to split away. The horn will eventually be an island and Africa will be smaller.

This is very interesting, but why didn't they show an upper view of where they think this "split" may happen?

The split has already been happening. That's what the rift valleys are all about.
