Wonder if he will relate a near death experience?

No. He was not dead. Dead is forever.
Death is the permanent cessation of cellular activity.

Fascinating story, though. ;)

Yeah, curious to see as well.

Near-freezing conditions, it said. So, cold enough to prevent degeneration of the man's body, but not so cold as to damage it.

Remarkable that the need for oxygen to the brain was reduced to such an extent that he could be revived after 18 hours, and not suffer brain damage. This would normally occur within about 4 minutes.

Misleading picture. The picture is a CPR training photograph. Looks like a dummy.

Yes, the arm fits into a visible socket, with excess space around it. A plastic dummy. I doubt that the hospital would release a picture of the actual patient, due to privacy concerns.

Ahhhh... right... the title of the UmBot post is misleading.

the ACTUAL Times article said "...Man resuscitated after heart stops for 18 hours..." and NOT "..after being dead for 18 hours.. "

Still pretty remarkable though... most especially as the doctors reckon he has NOT suffered from brain damage. Well, insofar as it is possible to tell with a Frenchman :P

When my son was in Jr high (he's in college now)  he did a report about a doctor working on this type of cold being used in emergency situations to slow down body functions until people could be transported for treatment. He was trying to make it commonplace for EMS to use. I guess he's still working on it but obviously he was on to something.

Uhuh... I seen this in a movie once. It’s all fun and games until the demon that came back disguised as him goes on a rampage...

I was thinking the same. A lot of people that go through this usually have a story to tell. We'll see if he does.
