Still Waters Posted April 14, 2018 #1 Share Posted April 14, 2018 A burger restaurant in Durham, North Carolina, is offering a peculiar addition to its selection of toppings this month — alongside the usual array of cheeses, vegetables, sauces and other condiments, one special burger is presented topped by a tarantula. https://www.livescience.com/62298-tarantula-burger-challenge.html

rashore Posted April 14, 2018 #7 Share Posted April 14, 2018 mmmmm, no. I like spiders- alive. I don't want to eat a dead one. And also, I just don't like a lot of stuff on my burger- I don't like bacon on a burger though I do love bacon.
Lilly Posted April 14, 2018 #8 Share Posted April 14, 2018 All I eat on my burger is lettuce, a tomato slice and catsup. Sometimes if I'm feeling very hungry I will add a slice of cheese. I would never add a spider...never.
+Not A Rockstar Posted April 14, 2018 #9 Share Posted April 14, 2018 No, other than when surprised in the house, I like spiders alive.
Orphalesion Posted April 14, 2018 #10 Share Posted April 14, 2018 (edited) Well not if they just plop the whole tarantula onto the burger like that... As I always say when insect (or in this case, arthropod) meat gets mentioned; grind it up, press it into patties or meatballs (you know like lobster balls) so nobody has to look at the wholly bodies anymore and I'd gladly eat it. And that way you people can still be "hahahaha I ate a tarantula/meal-worm/maggot/ant burger!" But yes, considering that this is a spider and not a meal-worm or something I'd have some hesitation as they are important for the eco-system's health in their role as predators. +and-then Posted April 14, 2018 #13 Share Posted April 14, 2018 "But it tastes just like CHICKEN" Nope, won't be eatin' no arachnids today. I suspect that even if I was forced to try due to starvation, I wouldn't keep it down on the first try.
~Onyx~ Posted April 14, 2018 #14 Share Posted April 14, 2018 Someone's life would have to be hanging in the balance, and even THEN they may be outta gas, lol. Can I get a side of scorpion tails with it?
XenoFish Posted April 14, 2018 #15 Share Posted April 14, 2018 I'd do it just because no one else seems to want to. Normally I eat my spiders in my sleep.
