Submariners play cricket at North Pole

Royal Navy submariners decided to spice up their training expedition at the North Pole with a round of cricket in the snow.

Crews from HMS Trenchant were in the Arctic Circle for Ice Exercise 2018, a five-week operation with US forces, when they picked up their bats for a game.

Battling through freezing temperatures, stunning pictures show the group enjoy the clear blue skies as they ran, bowled and batted during their downtime fun in one of the coldest places on earth.
