+susieice Posted May 5, 2018 Author #6 Share Posted May 5, 2018 (edited) News is saying the 6.9 earthquake is the largest to hit Hawaii since 1975. The fissures opening up in housing developments are miles from the volcano itself, even outside the boundaries of Volcanoes National Park. Looks like Mt Kilauea is growing. Really hoping everyone remains safe. A lot of toxic sulfuric gases being released and authorities are warning people they are an immediate threat to life. National Guard is on duty to watch in case more fissures open elsewhere. Kilauea continues to erupt which it's been doing for many years. https://www.*** blocked ***/news/world/954586/Hawaii-volcano-update-LIVE-Kilauea-volcano-eruption-USGS-earthquake-alert-warning USGS is now reporting over 250 earthquakes, 50 on Wednesday alone. Don't know why first link is blocked. This one is very informative as to what's happening there. Volcanoes National Park has been closed. http://www.khon2.com/news/local-news/agencies-prepare-for-possible-eruption-from-kilauea-volcano/1155831630 Edited May 5, 2018 by susieice

+susieice Posted May 14, 2018 Author #16 Share Posted May 14, 2018 (edited) Even more fissures opening and evacuations have been initiated. I feel so bad for the people of Hawaii. They can only wait and see if and when the explosive eruption happens. Some tourist lodgings have been asked to stop operations. http://www.hawaiinewsnow.com/story/38087728/geologist-seismic-activity-indicates-future-lava-outbreaks-are-likely http://www.latimes.com/nation/la-na-hawaii-kilauea-fissure-20180513-story.html Edited May 14, 2018 by susieice 1

Lilly Posted May 15, 2018 #18 Share Posted May 15, 2018 The Hawaiian islands were created by volcanic eruptions....and the Earth is creating yet again. Move everyone, that's all that can be done. 5
+susieice Posted May 15, 2018 Author #19 Share Posted May 15, 2018 Fissures continue to open up. They say the lava is slow moving, but I worry about all the noxious gas that is being released. A major eruption could occur at any moment. Some estimates are within the next 24-48 hours. A major reshaping is taking place, but so far, it isn't expected to affect Hilo. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2018/05/14/hawaii-volcano-big-island-anxiety-over-kilauea/606707002/ 2
+Not A Rockstar Posted May 15, 2018 #20 Share Posted May 15, 2018 They really need to step up the evacuations, I feel a lot of anxiety over this and worry it will be major, really major. If the people are safe, though, it becomes just a thing. Be safe Hawaii. Pele gonna go off soon 3

+and-then Posted May 15, 2018 #23 Share Posted May 15, 2018 It seems they think that the magma lake may fall below the groundwater level and that could lead to a steam explosion/eruption. I hope they can evac everyone before it happens. What a mess.

Bro I have had a migraine for days over this until today when I acknowledged it and released it or faced dying of agony. I see her crying and some loss but alive when I look, pray this is true and nothing intervenes. All I can do, brother. Much love. 1
