California conundrum.

California is becoming an extension of Mexico, Central and South America.

Influx of refugees and thugs.

Decent refugees I don't mind, but thugs are digging their feet into California... with their drugs, robberies, rapes, murders and stupid graffiti all over.

When people tell me that the social and political philosophies being promoted by the State of California are economically and morally 'good', I literally laugh. My next comment is: "And how's that working out for them?". Aside from the areas where the wealthy tech giants and Hollywood elites dwell the State is in big trouble. People are actually moving out of state in record numbers.

Its really kind of funny to watch. We have people flooding into our area from California to avoid high taxes, but once they get here they are appalled by the education system and lack of resources.

Well it was part of Mexico before it became part of the USA.

I'm not saying everyplace else is just 'nifty great'. Keep in mind though, California used to be very prosperous and boast much higher standards of living, education and social resources.

Give it another year for them to square the budget with their newly legal marijuana and they're gonna be just fine.

It was the state that huge numbers clamored to get into.  Now it has become a nasty wasteland in its inner cities and is struggling under crushing debt that will destroy economic prospects.  Want to see what a one party Progressive America will look like?  Look at the streets of San Fran and L.A.  The ROMANS had better sanitation and civil rules.

Romans had respect for what had been built by others.

I would have to ask "good for who?"  A state or county's first obligation is to it's own citizens.  It's great to be able to share with others by inviting immigrants, but not to the detriment of those already living there.

It was. It also was owned by Native Americans before the Spanish conquered it.

They are on their way to bankruptcy, if not already there. And sadly, they will want the rest of the states to bail them out. There is also a mass exodus of people leaving for other states because of the tax and regulation burdens, and I would not be surprised if they import all their liberal policies that they are running away from in their new home states. When I hear reports of kids having to step over feces and needles in LA and SF and block upon block of homeless tent cities, I have to wonder how they are enjoying the "benefits" of liberal, socialist policies after all these years and who voted in the likes of Brown, Feinstein and Pelosi?

Indeed, they did.  They were brutal when exercising control but were the world's best at governance because they allowed people to basically rule themselves and keep any customs and traditions that didn't directly challenge the authority of Rome.  These days, there is an element in our society that is purely nihilistic where any traditions are concerned.  Cause people to forget where they came from and it's much easier to lead them where you want them to go.

Add to that truth that the goal of the Progressives is doubtless to entrench themselves by whatever means possible and it becomes clear that politics are no longer a viable solution to what is happening there - or in other deep Blue states.  I've said this early and often since Trump won... if he left the office today, he'd have already accomplished the destruction of the BIG LIE that the Dems/Progs have used, in collusion with the MSM, for decades.  His time in office has caused the Left/Establishment/MSM whores to drop all the masks and go for broke in a no-holds-barred fight to the finish to neutralize him and his voters.

An interesting aside - Illinois has several counties that have appropriated some of the Left-Speak silliness to protect gun rights outside Chicago.  Citizens in several counties, aware that Chicago's population could make stricter gun laws a possibility, have named themselves "Sanctuary Counties" for guns :)

I really think if you could stop seeing things through the left vs right prism you'd realize the opposition to Trump has very little to do with actual politics and a whole ton to do with morality, civility and societal norms.

Fun fact: Cali has the fifth highest GDP in the world. One place above the UK, a country with nearly double its population.

Also fun fact ...Russia has a little more than 1/2 as many people as the United States but over a thousand were arrested for Protesting Putin. Fancy that!

That fact was most definitely not fun. Kinda depressing, actually. And confusing, since I have no idea what your point was.

Wow... man you really (pardon the pun) stepped right into this one:

I used to really want to visit San Fran.  It has changed so much for the worse in my lifetime that I don't even consider it any longer.  I mean, I literally wouldn't accept free airfare and lodging and cash to spend.  It's like a foreign country now.  It makes me sick and a little angry.
