Harry Potter Is Not a Gateway to the Occult

I’m a faithful Catholic who also loves the Harry Potter series of books (heck, I met my husband in a web club called Harry Potter for Grown Ups), and as such I get rather annoyed when I see other Catholics insist that Harry Potter is a gateway to the occult — meaning that people who enjoy the books and/or the movies are starting on a path that ends in full-fledged devil worship.

I actually converted to Catholicism while obsessively re-reading the first four books. I had my first date with my husband on the day “Goblet of Fire” came out in 2000 (we went to a release party on our date), and we jointly converted one month before “Order of the Phoenix” was released in 2003.

Surely, if you want to know get into the occult you'd be better off reading something that purports to be a true and accurate account of real people turning water into wine, staffs into snakes, speaking in strange tongues, invoking storms and plagues and raising the dead?  ;)

Occult only means hidden such as hidden knowledge. The Catholic Church don't want people to have hidden knowledge because they would lose followers and money. The Catholic Church can be termed a cult or any religious organization.

Every religious group is a cult in the basic sense of the word, but the term has grown into a different meaning now.

It seems it is applied as "sect I don't like" a lot of the time.

Harry Potter is actually a Christ-like figure, when you think about it. What bothers some catholics and evangelicals is all the ''magic'', casting of spells and stuff but most Christians can agree that this is fiction/fantasy in a world born of the imagination. So there is nothing wrong with it.

The level of Christ is too much because spiritual people do not need sticks to perform some kind of action, but magicians are needed because they can not instantly manifest their power with their consciousness.

Christians can not believe in magic, however it works. Just christianity does not want to mess with magic  because it's easy to go wrong. The magic of the stick works, here as an excerpt as stolen items were found:

Spoiler

Some brahmin was robbed. Despite all his efforts, he could not find a thief or things. Then he decided to resort to the fortune, known in Assam under the name of Huka-Mella or "self-propelled stick." He sent for a well-known in the city sorcerer named Mahidhar, who came to his house and, carving a bamboo stick in place, stood on the threshold of the house and began to wait for passers-by. At the same time, a commissioner's scribe, a certain Rohnar, was walking along the street. He called him and, declaring what was the matter, asked if he wanted to help the Brahmin find his stolen things. Rohnar agreed and immediately picked up a stick, over which Mahidhar had just uttered a series of spells and mantras ...

No sooner had Rohnar touched the bamboo, as if some force possessed him. He started running, screaming that the stick had grown to his hand and that she was dragging him. Behind him, of course, ran a large crowd and a robbed brahmin. Having run to a small tank (standing water in a large tank), Rohnar directly jabbed a cane into the shallow water and said: "Dig here." After lowering the water, they began to dig and found part of the stolen silver things. Encouraged by success, the Brahmin wished to find the rest. Mahidhar read again his incantations over the cane and again put it into the hand of Rohnar. The same scene, the same uncontrollable inclination forward. This time the scribe ran in another direction, to a tree not far from the Brahmin's house.

"Dig here!" He cried to the people.

They began to dig and breaking the ground, found the rest. For this police, probably dissatisfied with such an easy way to find stolen property, in which they did not get anything, arrested Rohnar and escorted him to the police, accusing him of stealing things. He was put in jail for one suspicion and after holding several days beforehand, was taken to court, before the formidable face of the judge, Mr. Triborne. The accused, of course, did not admit. In the presence of the public and the whole court, he told how it was: he said that he passed by the house of the brahmin, whom he did not know, and that he agreed to experience without even believing in it. In any case, he said (and very judiciously), whether he was a kidnapper of stolen things, he certainly would not have gone that street and would not have agreed to become a detective. Then he told that, taking a magic stick in his hand, he lost both times consciousness; that he did not carry a stick, but the stick itself carried him ... and so on. Despite the fact that no one except the police was his accuser, but on the contrary, a huge crowd of people present at the "Hukka-Melle" showed for him, and himself his boss vouched for him, a judge, an ardent materialist, sentenced the unfortunate youth brahmin to prison terms for a year and three weeks!

He appealed to the highest court. But Mr. Letmann Johnson, a new judge, only confirmed the verdict on that wise basis that if he found things without hesitation, then he knew in advance where they are; and if he knew, then there is not the slightest doubt that "he is either a thief or a concealer".

For her, it was true that she was writing. The truth of her explanation of God looked more Buddhist than Christian.
And in the Secret Doctrine there is so much information that our scientists did not even dream of such a history of humanity. In general, if you appeal to other sources, then Blavatsky's little is wrong. There are a lot of people who do not tolerate Blavatsky but you need to understand that this is more information in books than religious teaching.
For example, thanks to her book, I understood why and by whom the statues on Easter Island were carved while scientists can puzzle over who and why it was done. Also she explains why the race of monkeys appeared and why monkey can not be considered our ancestor. It is clear that she received these chronicles and not from myself wrote it means someone in Tibet has kept a record of our history.

On the topic I also wanted to say that magic is a higher level of society than technology. We use mechanical devices, rocket engines, internal combustion engine but magic is the action of the subtle forces of man or the elemental forces of nature.

She twisted Buddhism to her own perspective ( a Western one) and she called my people "The Red Races" and Asians "The Yellow Races" when we are the same people......and oh yeah! Genetics have proven apes are our ancestors and Mu and Atlantis are geologically impossible,

Why do you think I quit magick? All the books were basically the same recycled garbage as before. There's nothing "new" in new age thinking, its useless.

This race existed. Science does not deny the big trees of the Jurassic period of animals, so why not be a race of giants? Did you hear that near the traces of the dinosaur were found large traces of anthropoid creatures as if he had grazed dinosaurs? The Atlantic Ocean is named for the race of giant giants, although they were tall, but even higher were the Lemurians and had more powerful super abilities.

You can read more about the life of the Atlanteans and Lemurians here:

Biological impossibilities.

If there was a technological race before us they would of left something called "pollution" and "alloys" which have never been detected in any geological formation.

Of course, the monkeys are close to us in the DNA because they are former primitive people who combined with animal females so their children did not become reasonable and descended to the level of an animal and continued to live on trees. And biology mistakenly considers them to be the ancestors of man although this is a degenerate person!

Their life was close to nature in the initial races and only late Atlanteans created civilizations. Lemuria under water in the Pacific Ocean and there were only numerous islands of New Zealand and Atlantis destroyed by earthquakes and water all flooded. Cave people lived on the territory of Europe, so there were no Lemurians there.
