5-hour energy scares me

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone it is currently hour 5 since drinking a full “5 hour energy” drink and i have to admit i am getting MAJOR medieval vibes. I cannot sleep and i am getting the feeling i might die of falling off a roller coaster. Also i feel like my organs have all come detached from my body and are floating freely. I also can’t stop laughing at a picture of Woody and Buzz from Toy Story as LEGO action figures. Has anyone else ever experienced this or anything close to this upon drinking a 5 Hour energy?

Then don't drink any more of them. Drink a lot of water to flush yourself out. You've got to ride the caffeine wave till it burns out.

If you want caffeine. Just drink regular coffee, but wait a few days before any further caffeine consumption. "Energy" drinks are terrible for you.

That stuff is terrible for you.  Like Xeno said, lot's of water, eat a piece of bread, and never again!

Well the bread won't help. Neither will the water. The point of drinking water is to stay hydrated.

Do you drink much caffeine? I'm a heavy consumer so five hour doesn't do much for me.

If you rarely use it, or are particularly sensitive it's a shot of just sugar and caffeine.

I had to look up how to deal with caffeine the other day. Plenty of water to dilute the concentration and potassium (K) to break it down sooner. bananas and sunflower seeds are rich in K.

My 60-something year old mother drinks two extra strength ones a day, and she's had a bad heart for years. I don't know how she does it. I can handle them, but I don't take them often because they don't do much for me.

Sounds like you have high caffeine sensitivity. Drink coffee or tea if you want a better experience or even buy low mg caffeine pills (the best bang for your buck).

All good advice.  There are no free lunches or 5 hour energy boost from the cosmos.  You are pouring out the same kind of brain chemistry you get from running from a saber tooth tiger, where is the danger, gotta run, don't know where.  It messes you up and you wind up paying it back for a lot more than 5 hours.  Don't consider it free energy boost, consider it like a payday loan with a very high interest rate.

I never drink them although I do drink a lot of coffee and sleep too little, I stay away from them.   After hearing your story,  I will consider carrying one around for the emergency encounter with a saber tooth tiger.

I don't see this as paranormal related at all, just that you probably are sensitive to caffeine and had some anxiety as a result of having too much caffeine.
