Still Waters Posted May 21, 2018 #1 Share Posted May 21, 2018 While humans can only broadcast about one percent of their vocal power through their speech, some animals and mammals are able to broadcast 100 percent. The secret to their long-range howls? A combination of high pitch, a wide-open mouth and a clever use of the body's shape to direct sound—none of which are factors that humans can replicate. https://phys.org/news/2018-05-animals-holler.html 2

Likely Guy Posted May 21, 2018 #3 Share Posted May 21, 2018 If you ever hear a fox "bark/growl" it's one of the most unnerving sounds you'll hear. The first time was in the middle of the night out on my front yard and all I could see was two beady eyes and that god awful sound. Scared the heck out of me!
