Anybody here have an interest in discussing it ?

Figured I'd ask before spewing out a post nobody wants to read

Thanks

Hi Phyto

welcome to the forum, you have no idea how auto correct mangled your name but I got it to work.

Generally that is how it works you tell us what you want to talk about and add some links that support your statements, then then we ask questions and exchange points of discussion to test the validity of your claim. So please do inform us.

Now you have me very curious. I have auto-correct turned off to avoid such embarrassment.

Hi Kmt

It was 12 letters longer and I have no idea how one would pronounce it.

Ancient Mesopotamian units of measurement - from Wiki.

Ohh no. Not the Mesopotamians. Does this mean Annunanki are going to turn up shortly?

More about the Gur here.  Also here.  And here (but I don't consider Stecchini a reliable source).

Can't find anything about the Gur-cube ...

Phyto, anything further to add? Perhaps some more detail? You left us with almost no direction and the thread really isn't going anywhere.

The first two books make it pretty clear that the third one isn't correct.  Searching for Naram-Sin didn't bring up anything on meterology (there were four kings with that name): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naram-Suen

...so I got nothin.

The Gur Cube is reported to have been 12 by 12 by 1 cubits. How all the other ancient Mesopotamian units of measurement fit into this is explained in the linked article, below (see section 2). For those who don't find wikipedia satisfactory, there are a number of citations and links to sources, included.

Stecchini's very informative, but all his claims have to be checked.

I hadn't realised there were four kings with the same name.  However, according to this (which has an image of the royal gur), it was Naram-Sin of Akkad (c. 2190–2154 BC),

Mention of the gur cube here.

Not much of a "cube," if you ask me, the Geometry teacher.

Um, well, if you wanted to discuss that, I'd suggest you start another thread

If I joined I''d probably start by pointing out that " ki " is a silent determinant and not actually said outloud, and " an " and " annuna " are two separate words

More properly, it's Annunaki

:)

Thanks for contributing

Well, someone who knows something about Sumerian. That puts him miles ahead of people quoting Sitchin here. Hell, that puts them miles ahead of Sitchin.

They're going to have to provide a lot more information for us simps, though, if they're looking for a whole conversation.

It's not often we're snubbed as not being sufficiently intelligent.

I hope the Krotons never get a hold of his High Brain, or we'll all be taken over by agitated slurries of tellurium.
