 I've always admire and loved this song ever since I could remember. Only now it means so much more to me.

Yeah I saw that there's many different versions. The  one you shared  is different and  this one is also different.

Amazing song!  I'm not interested in any version that isn't John Denver, even if it's a "punk" version.  My son was singing parts of this song (mostly the chorus) when he was 2 and that made me so proud.  I love to sing this song karaoke and it makes my wife's eyes fill with tears each time (if you know Washington state geography, we lived in Ellensburg for 10 years before moving back to my native land of Enumclaw.  She still misses eastern Washington).

I don't always love folk music but John Denver wrote some amazing music and this just may be his greatest.
