Still Waters Posted June 19, 2018 #1 Share Posted June 19, 2018 A man from the small village of Santa Teresa in Paraguay returned home after three days away to find his family mourning a body they thought was his. Juan Ramón Alfonso Penayo, 20, had last been seen on Thursday leaving the family home on the border with Brazil. The area is hotly disputed between a number of drug gangs and when Mr Penayo did not return, his family assumed he had met with trouble. When police found a charred body on Sunday, they concluded it was him. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-latin-america-44532466

I bet he livened up the festivities when he arrived I read about a tail-gunner in a B-17 that didn't get the jump order when the rest of the crew bailed out over the Channel in WWII. The plane was on a primitive "auto-pilot" and crash landed in a field. When he realized he was the only one aboard, he just walked back to a town and arrived back at the base pub in time for his own wake.
Carlos Allende Posted June 19, 2018 #3 Share Posted June 19, 2018 (edited) Family wasn't that angry: to save costs on engraving 'Juan Ramón Alfonso Penayo' on grave, they just put, 'Steve'. Edited June 19, 2018 by Carlos Allende 2

paperdyer Posted June 20, 2018 #5 Share Posted June 20, 2018 That's better than having his body in a coffin and having him wake up!
