+OverSword Posted June 21, 2018 #1 Share Posted June 21, 2018 June 17 marked the 47th anniversary of the United States failed and immoral war on drugs. Below is an interview with one of the great American thinkers of the 20th century, Milton Friedman, about his thoughts on ending this failed war and legalizing drugs. I know this is a controversial stand to take but I urge you to listen to the arguments.
StarMountainKid Posted June 21, 2018 #2 Share Posted June 21, 2018 Follow the money. Who besides the drug dealers are profiting by the illegal drug trade? There are millions of dollars being shuffled around among politicians, law enforcement, banks, influential business people, etc., who do not want this cash cow to be discontinued. 3

StarMountainKid Posted June 21, 2018 #4 Share Posted June 21, 2018 "In essence, the role of the government is to protect the drug cartel." - Friedman - from the third video. This is essentially true because this is what is actually happening.
Phaeton80 Posted June 21, 2018 #5 Share Posted June 21, 2018 Similar double layers could be identified in the sequel to this story / narrative; 'The War on Terror'™. Significant levels of synthesized terror which facilitates the freedom for security trade- off (move towards a police state), a guarantee for an endless cashflow for the MIC (and everyone who serves it), as well as a prelude / rationalization for the foreign policy set in after 2001 (to further geo- strategical aspirations, ie. Iraq, Afghanistan, the ME region as a whole).
