No you couldn't (and didn't) because "single action rifle" isn't really a legitimate term.

Sigh …..

My intention is not to show how 'smart' I am since it's very basic, elementary knowledge but rather to highlight how you don't know the most basic facts about guns, how they function, etc.

Sigh …...

It's people like you pontificating about "common sense gun laws with reasonable restrictions" while flying a false flag of being a gun owner "professionally trained in their use" blah blah blah...when in reality you know as much about guns as Obama demonstrated in his cornhole "Ah'm a gonna shoot dis heah shotgun to show Ah'm a red-blooded, gun-toting, 2nd Amendment-spouting American you all can trust!" photo op.

Sigh...……..

Quote

Single action (SA) refers to any firearm that must be manually cocked before each shot. In such guns, the trigger performs a single function (releasing the hammer to fire the gun), thus the "single" in the name. Single action most often applies to handguns, but may also refer to long guns (rifles and shotguns) as well.

:sleepy: Do you feel better yet? I mean I really don't mind being here for you to vent but its only healthy if its calming your nerves.

Post the link to your quote with its invalid definition of "single action".  It's presenting false information so I want to help you understand why you should only seek out valid, reputable sources.

Here's a reputable, accurate and CORRECT online explanation of what single action means as pertains to handguns:

No, you posted a link to Google home page.

Regardless, a quote by someone as ignorant of guns as you only helps validate your ignorance to you.

Well, it doesn’t fold the washing or pick up after the dog, so yes as firing bullets is it’s only job I’d call it a “single action rifle” ;)

No government, anywhere, ever is the friend of the people. At best it is the servant of the people. At worst it’s Master. The government is empowered by the people to enact within established frameworks what is necessary for the current safety and future security of the people who elected those individuals in the government to their offices.

No, you were telling me how you "...don't give a flying **** about home defense."  Then you proceeded to babble about "single action rifles" being appropriate for private ownership

So: does your emotionally distraught wife (as you say) know that you belive you should own a semi-auto AR15 or AK47?  Wow, I bet she WOULD make you sell the guns then, huh?

"IMO there should be regional and local militia programs, completely separate from the state and federal governments,  which one must enlist and drill regularly with to have access to anything beyond a revolver and single action shotgun."

"A single action shotgun is what happens when you're torn between typing single action rifle and pump action shotgun and your fingers work faster than your brain."

"In this case the context was guns, specifically anything beyond a single action shotgun (said that just for you big guy ;)) or revolver."

The "context" was private ownership of guns...so now you are saying that private citizens shouldn't own ANY type of rifle.

Is that correct?

You keep jumping back and forth between single action shotguns and single action revolvers and blah blah blah...I don't think you even know what you mean.  I know you really don't know that much if anything about guns from any sort of practical experience.... but you can't seem to articulate a coherent argument with consistent talking points.

You remind me of a help desk rep sitting at a computer in another country who can only read the prepared script. Any questions not covered in the standard FAQ throws "Suzy" (yeah right) into a tailspin.

You're obviously anti-gun and believe confiscation of ALL guns is the thing to do.  You hit most of the talking points against private ownership of guns including

- invoking THE CHILDREN via "protection of innocents from slaughter"...including how your own child has been threatened 4x this year (personalize the issue and invoke empathy if not sympathy argumentum ad misericordiam)

- a dig on 'keeping guns out of the hands of children and the mentally volatile'...including an off-the-cuff reference to your mentally unstable wife (personalize the issue and demonstrate what your "responsible behavior" that should be emulated looks like)

- you feign ignorance of would-be gun grabbers like Obana, Clinton, Feinstein, Holder, etc. advocating gun confiscation and when presented with direct quotes try various "That's not what they said" or "Not what they meant" obfuscations abd non sequitur (i.e. Obama lamented Congress and the people wouldn't allow that...as if that negates what he advocates)

- offer yourself up as someone who is actually FOR the Second Ammendment but interpreted as applying to militias run so stringently that you admit they wouldn't exist (which would be the intent) with "reasonable restrictions" on the types of guns private citizens can own blah blah blah...In other words, let's draw a line via new restrictions and make it the new norm...and then later, move it to the left with even more restrictions.

Etc.

No. That's just irresponsibly paranoid in my opinion.

Yeah, 'cause like gun confiscation has never preceded dictatorships/murderous regimes....well, except Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy, Communist China, Socialist Russia, Pol Pot's Cambodia, Idi Amin's Uganda....

What could possibly go wrong?

The quotes by Obama and Clinton are readily verifiable across the internet.

And before someone says"Oh but they weren't talking about confiscating ALL types of guns, only high capacity assault weapons." that's obviously not true since they clearly want to emulate the confiscation programs of the UK and Australia.  A review of those nations' gun laws show that in Australia, for example, private ownership of a handgun is restricted to the point of being nearly non-existent:

https://ssaa.org.au/news-resources/research-archive/handgun-ownership-facts-in-australia

And that includes ALL types of handguns...even airguns.

The Category H restrictions were enacted after the Monash University shooting.  The "bad guy" with a gun was stopped by "good guys" without guns.  With two fatalities and five wounded it isn't mentioned as a major shooting.  Yet it precipitated federal and state legislative change.

Well, since I have no intention of participating in a gun confiscation program, there's no way I "could possibly go wrong".

But if you mean I just generally scare you, then sure: when you stare into the abyss of your fear, I'll be there staring back.

Ooooooo.......
