Still Waters Posted July 8, 2018 #1 Share Posted July 8, 2018 Police have launched an investigation after reports a cow was seen in the back of a car on a motorway. Motorists were stunned after apparently seeing the large animal in the light blue 04 reg Volkswagen Passat on Friday evening. South Wales Police said officers were looking into whether any road traffic or animal welfare offences had occurred. The RSPCA said it was "extremely concerned" about the images. Photographs being shared on social media appear to show a small or young cow taking up most of the back window of the estate car. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-44750013
Kittens Are Jerks Posted July 8, 2018 #2 Share Posted July 8, 2018 Poor animal was probably terrified. Dangerous first and foremost for the calf, and also for everyone else on the road. But when you think about it, most people don't even bother to transport their pets safely. You see dogs in front seats or with their heads out the window all the time. Sure the dogs probably love it, but one solid hit and splat!

freetoroam Posted July 17, 2018 #15 Share Posted July 17, 2018 Quote Transporting an animal in the back of a car is not illegal in its own right However, penalties for overloading a car include fines of up to £300 as well as three penalty points. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-south-west-wales-44848071 I guess this will be what is ongoing = they have to weigh the cow.
