World's longest fingernails finally cut off

Still Waters

Recommended Posts

They took 66 years to grow but only a couple of minutes to chop off. On Wednesday, Shridhar Chillal from Pune, India, who holds the Guinness World Record for the longest fingernails ever recorded on a single hand, finally cut his nails. Or rather, a technician wearing a face mask and wielding a power tool carefully removed them during a “nail clipping ceremony” in New York.

That must feel really weird for him now. He doesn't look very happy.

That's the tame version of what I first thought of posting!

ETA: I don't recall such outrage before. Remember those good ol' times before your recent absence?

I imagine he'll struggle to adapt to having no nails after almost 70 years.

Yes, and I wonder if he will gradually get the use of that hand back?

He'll have to start from scratch.

Instead of donating his nails to a museum, he should eat them! They are high in calcium and essential grit.

I wonder how he's getting on now; I seem to recall that when he cut the nails off the other hand it left him feeling rather glum!
