Still Waters Posted July 16, 2018 #1 Share Posted July 16, 2018 The number of EU citizens who emigrated from the UK last year is the highest on record, the Office for National Statistics has said. A total of 139,000 left the country in 2017. The only other year when the EU emigration figures came close was in 2008, when the figure was 134,000. Net long-term migration to the UK from the EU was 101,000 last year, the lowest estimate in five years. The ONS data is for the first full calendar year since the Brexit vote. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-44846002

But net migration (from EU countries) was still 100,000 (ish). And don't worry. The loss of skilled EU citizens will be MORE than made up by the net migration of 200,000+ unskilled jihadi's , so the balance of Cultural Enrichment will still be more than maintained (all figures are from the article cited by Still Waters)

Somehow, I doubt that.

Well, it WAS the BBC website.... I think the actual term they used was something more politically correct.... like "fuzzy wuzzies". Or possibly "non-EU immigrants". I've subsequently discovered that the largest group in this category where Indians. Followed by Australians. Why on EARTH would Australians want to come and live HERE ? Or is Turnball getting revenge by shipping all his criminals over here ? Edited July 16, 2018 by RoofGardener
keithisco Posted July 16, 2018 #5 Share Posted July 16, 2018 From the OP's Article: Quote "What these statistics show is that more of the people who are coming to the UK are coming for the reasons we would want - to take up a definite job or to study," immigration minister Caroline Noakes said. While net migration is continuing to add to the UK population, the 2017 figure of 282,000 is down from record highs recorded in 2015 and early 2016. It is the highest for 18 months, however..." Bolded bit is a bit confusing?
