Mini-tsunami hits Menorca & Majorca

A wave measuring nearly five feet struck in Ciutadella on the west coast of Menorca early yesterday morning and flooded nearby beaches.

The phenomenon, caused by freak weather conditions, also affected resorts in Majorca, with seawater flooding bars and terraces in Andratx and covering beachside roads.

No injuries were reported as the beaches were largely empty.
