Rush is the original right wing talk radio conspiracy theorist. He's probably about 30% of the reason we have all the Republican numpties we see today. 60% of the blame goes to Roger Ailes.

Of Limbaugh's controversial statements and allegations they have investigated, Politifact has rated 84% as ranging from "Mostly False" to "Pants-On-Fire" (a signification for extremely false), with 5% of Limbaugh's contested statements rising to the level of "Mostly True" and 0% rated "True."[97] These debunked allegations by Limbaugh include suggestions that the existence of gorillas disproves the theory of evolution, that Ted Kennedy sent a letter to Soviet Leader Yuri Andropov seeking to undercut President Reagan, that a recent lack of hurricanes disproves climate change, and that President Obama wanted to mandate circumcision.

Politico is one of the most authoritative fact checkers on the Internet and Wikipedia isn't even a source, it's a conduit to other sources. I wonder what Rush uses as his sources?

The Clown...in two years has brought The US economy to an all time high. Lowest unemployment ever,,,and across all races...lowest black unemployment ever...lowest Hispanic unemployment ever.

This simply isn't true, and both these stats are pretty meaningless.

The US economy is not at "an all time high" - this sounds like the sort of vague boast Trump would make however. Growth in GDP was higher in 2014 under Obama than it has been this year under Trump.

Unemployment started a pretty consistent slide in 2011 under Obama, and many economists in 2018 pointed out that the seemingly impressive numbers in 2018 were due to a shrinking labour force, not an increase in available jobs. If you don't actively search for a new job for 4 weeks, they don't count you as unemployed. All "lowest black unemployment" means is "less black people were able to search for work" - this was something Trump was very eager to call his predecessor out on before he came into office himself.

You need to look instead at employment-population ratios, and these show that black employment was at the same level in 2008 under Bush and lower than in 2000 under Clinton. The reason why actual employment numbers fell in the early 2000s is because of the stock market crash. Not Obama's fault, just as the rise in employment since then is anything to do with Trump.

It simply is!

The US unemployment rate  was unchanged at 3.7 percent in October 2018, unchanged from the previous month's 49-year low and in line with market expectations. The number of unemployed increased by 111 thousand to 6.08 million and employment rose by 600 thousand to 156.56 million. Unemployment Rate in the United States averaged 5.77 percent from 1948 until 2018, reaching an all time high of 10.80 percent in November of 1982 and a record low of 2.50 percent in May of 1953.

That means that for every job lost...6 jobs were created.  Doesn't really match a 'shrinking labour force' narrative does it?

In reality Emma, here is what happened.  Everyone knew, even before the election, that Obama would be elected.  A lot of people were scared...actually frightened...because they believed that when he said he was going to 'transorm' America, that what that really meant was that he was going to transform America into a Socialist country.  As a result of that...people pulled out of the stock market.  Now, you can say that wasn't Obama's fault...that their fear was the actual cause...but...it remains nonetheless that his Policy goals, as understood by the masses, were a catalyst for that fear.

As a result of the pull out of the stock market...many companies found themselves in a huge bind.  Home Depot and the like began laying off people left and right.  As a result...the housing market bubble also collapsed...Now it was hard to even get a mortgage and many who had mortgages were unable to sustain payment.  All of this from fear of Obama's policies.

Trump's policies have created the opposite effect.  People are optimistic and that is a catalyst for growth...which is what we are experiencing now.  The numbers are real Emma...regardless of what you may think about the man himself.  But...and...here are some things about the man himself that helps along the Optimism of the American people:

He gets things done.  He seemingly never sleeps...even though he owns Golf Resorts all over the globe...he rarely goes golfing...compared to his predecessor who was seemingly always on the golf course.

He keeps his political promises which is virtually unheard of.   Example:  He said before the election...Here is what I'll do.  'Hello Mr. Ford CEO...I think you should build plants in America instead of Mexico.  If you want to build in Mexico that's okay, but I'm going to slap a 35% tariff on all cars coming into the US from Mexico.'   That is what he said he was going to do.  Did he do that?  NO!! Ford just amazingly decide to build its plant in America!  Why?  Because they believed that he would do exactly what he said if they built in Mexico.

Why do people not like him?  I can only guess it is the Left that doesn't like him...and because the Media is Left...all we here is what a bad guy he is.  It isn't true. :)

No, seriously, you can't limit yourself to one guy as the source of info, no matter how much you trust him. I don't trust my own self that much, I see on daily basis that things may look a lot different when you take a better look at them.

Recently I was enjoying the latest episode of Trump-Putin horror show and the same video looks different in different sites, since it was cut just a little differently.

So... no, one source is not a wise choice. All media is worth taking a look, you just have to remember from what angle each operates and you'll get immensely more complete and accurate picture than from one source alone.

But ...

You can get all your news from one source...if that one source tells you what everyone else is saying and why.

I like the drudgereport. He links to all kinds of news stories.  That's where those who know go to see it all...so I am not uninformed...nor am I misinformed.  I am actually pretty damn well informed.

I just know what side of the political spectrum I am on and why.  And I know why the other side of the political perspective is striped the way it is as well.

I have a question....because I can't find my drummer from Croatia...zipppp...gone...not a trace....

....might people go missing in Croatia based on their political perspective?  Knock once if yes, twice if no, three times if you have no comment because you don't want to go missing.

One source is too dangerous. There's always a possibility of well designed campaign going on. Personally, I'm aware I can't be immune to propaganda. I think I can spot the simple, glaring examples, but something carefully designed might sway me too.

So I always take a look at various sources. It can be fun too, to see the same thing through completely different filter.

*knocks on wood* *three times* damn... no, I won't go missing. I think  You never know, but at least I'm a smoker so my organs must be crap and there won't be much use of my corpse

All right, in all seriousness, no, we're not disappearing out of political reasons at the moment. But that's something that can change overnight.

QAnon's true believers are devastated as the conspiracy theory goes down in flames — and it won't end well

Quote

In time, a gigantic overarching narrative emerged in which Trump, Attorney General Jeff Sessions, and Special Counsel Robert Mueller were all working together and planning mass arrests of everyone from Hillary Clinton to liberal financier George Soros to members of Congress, for their role in a massive, world-spanning criminal child sex ring enterprise that has included every former U.S. president — and that people should prepare martial law and orchestrated mass riots to protect those marked for arrest. Q's believers have claimed that North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un is a CIA plant, that former Democratic staffer Seth Rich was assassinated by MS-13 on the orders of party leadership, and that Republicans intentionally lost the special election for Jeff Sessions' Senate seat in Alabama to build evidence of voter fraud. At its height, QAnon broke into popular culture, with disgraced TV star Roseanne Barr promoting it on Twitter.

But now, the ongoing failure of Q's predictions to come true has started to fragment the community, and two major events in particular smashed the credibility of the movement for many believers.

This was fun to watch on election night

I lived through it as well. Obama inherited a recession. The economy was climbing out of the recession basically all of Obamas presidency and is still to this day. The data comes directly from the government,no "lies from the left" facts dont have biases.  Did Trump inherit a mess? 8 charts show otherwise

My boss told me today that there is a 2nd constitution, and Trump will be using that one to restore America. The Fed is going to be abolished, and the riches it has collected over the years will be returned to each adult age 21 or older at a rate of 100K a year for 11 years.

We will be returning to the gold standard, with gold that is being stored in the Philippines. \

Some - and I stress some - of his proven lies, deceit follow..

Quote

LIMBAUGH: “Banks take the risks in issuing student loans and they are entitled to the profits.” (Radio show, quoted in FRQ, Summer/93)

REALITY: Banks take no risks in issuing student loans, which are federally insured.

LIMBAUGH: “Don’t let the liberals deceive you into believing that a decade of sustained growth without inflation in America [in the ’80s] resulted in a bigger gap between the haves and the have-nots. Figures compiled by the Congressional Budget Office dispel that myth.” (Ought to Be, p. 70)

REALITY: CBO figures do nothing of the sort. Its numbers for after-tax incomes show that in 1980, the richest fifth of our country had eight times the income of the poorest fifth. By 1989, the ratio was more than 20 to one.

LIMBAUGH: Comparing the 1950s with the present: “And I might point out that poverty and economic disparities between the lower and upper classes were greater during the former period.” (Told You So, p. 84)

REALITY: Income inequality, as measured by the U.S. Census Bureau, fell from the 1940s to the late 1960s, and then began rising. Inequality surpassed the 1950 level in 1982 and rose steadily to all-time highs in 1992. (Census Bureau’s “Money Income of Households, Families and Persons in the United States”)

LIMBAUGH: “Oh, how they relished blaming Reagan administration policies, including the mythical reductions in HUD’s budget for public housing, for creating all of the homeless! Budget cuts? There were no budget cuts! The budget figures show that actual construction of public housing increased during the Reagan years.” (Ought to Be, p. 242-243)

REALITY: In 1980, 20,900 low-income public housing units were under construction; in 1988, 9,700, a decline of 54 percent ;Statistical Abstracts of the U.S).In terms of 1993 dollars, the HUD budget for the construction of new public housing was slashed from $6.3 billion in 1980 to $683 million in 1988. “We’re getting out of the housing business. Period,” a Reagan HUD official declared in 1985.

LIMBAUGH: “The poorest people in America are better off than the mainstream families of Europe.” (Radio show, quoted in FRQ, Spring/93)

REALITY: Huh? The average cash income of the poorest 20 percent of Americans is $5,226; the average cash income of four major European nations–Germany, France, United Kingdom and Italy–is $19,708.

LIMBAUGH: “There’s no such thing as an implied contract.” (Radio show, quoted in FRQ, Spring/93)

REALITY: Every first-year law student knows there is.

LIMBAUGH: “Ladies and gentlemen, we now know why there is this institutional opposition to low tax rates in the liberal wing of the Democratic Party. It’s because [low tax rates] are biblical in nature and in root. When you can trace the lowering of tax rates on grain from 90 percent to 20 percent giving seven fat years during the days of Pharaoh in Egypt, why then you are tracing the roots of lower taxes and rising prosperity to religion…. You can trace individual prosperity, economic growth back to the Bible, the Old Testament. Isn’t it amazing?” (Radio show, 6/28/93)

REALITY: Amazingly wrong. Genesis 41 is about the wisdom of instituting taxes, not cutting them. After Pharaoh had a dream that prophesied seven fat years to be followed by seven lean years, Joseph advised him to “appoint officers over the land, and take up the fifth part of the land of Egypt in the seven plenteous years…and lay up corn under the hands of Pharaoh.” In other words, a 20 percent tax on the grain harvest would put aside food for use during the famine. Pharaoh took Joseph’s advice, and Egypt avoided hunger during the famine.

Weird Science

LIMBAUGH: “It has not been proven that nicotine is addictive, the same with cigarettes causing emphysema [and other diseases].” (Radio show, 4/29/94)

REALITY: Nicotine’s addictiveness has been reported in medical literature since the turn of the century. Surgeon General C. Everett Koop’s 1988 report on nicotine addiction left no doubts on the subject; “Today the scientific base linking smoking to a number of chronic diseases is overwhelming, with a total of 50,000 studies from dozens of countries,” states Encyclopedia Britannica‘s 1987 “Medical and Health Annual.”

LIMBAUGH: “We closed down a whole town–Times Beach, Mo.–over the threat of dioxin. We now know there was no reason to do that. Dioxin at those levels isn’t harmful.” (Ought to Be, p. 163)

REALITY: “The hypothesis that low exposures [to dioxin] are entirely safe for humans is distinctly less tenable now than before,” editorialized the New England Journal of Medicine after publishing a study (1/24/91) on cancer mortality and dioxin. In 1993, after Limbaugh’s book was written, a study of residents in Seveso, Italy had increased cancer rates after being exposed to dioxin, The EPA’s director of environmental toxicology said this study removed one of the last remaining doubts about dioxin’s deadly effects (AP, 8/29/93).

LIMBAUGH: “The worst of all of this is the lie that condoms really protect against AIDS. The condom failure rate can be as high as 20 percent. Would you get on a plane — or put your children on a plane — if one of five passengers would be killed on the flight? Well, the statistic holds for condoms, folks.” (Ought to Be, p. 135)

REALITY: A one in five AIDS risk for condom users? Not true, according to Dr. Joseph Kelaghan, who evaluates contraceptives for the National Institutes of Health. “There is substantive evidence that condoms prevent transmission if used consistently and properly,” he said. He pointed to a nearly two-year study of couples in which one partner was HIV-positive. Among the 123 couples who used condoms regularly, there wasn’t a single new infection (AP, 8/29/93).

LIMBAUGH: “Most Canadian physicians who are themselves in need of surgery, for example, scurry across the border to get it done right: the American way. They have found, through experience, that state medical care is too expensive, too slow and inefficient, and, most important, it doesn’t provide adequate care for most people.” (Told You So, p. 153)

REALITY: “Mr. Limbaugh’s claim simply isn’t true,” says Dr. Hugh Scully, chair of the Canadian Medical Association’s Council on Healing and Finance. “The vast majority of Canadians, including physicians, receive their care here in Canada. Those few Canadians who receive health care in the U.S. most often do because they have winter homes in the States–like Arizona and Florida–and have emergent health problems there.” Medical care in Canada is hardly “too expensive”; it’s provided free and covered by taxes.

LIMBAUGH: “If you have any doubts about the status of American health care, just compare it with that in other industrialized nations.” (Told You So, p. 153)

REALITY: The United States ranks 19th in life expectancy and 20th in infant mortality among 23 industrialized nations, according to the CIA’s 1993 World Fact Book. The U.S. also has the lowest health care satisfaction rate (11 percent) of the 10 largest industrialized nations (Health Affairs, vol. 9, no. 2).

LIMBAUGH: Denouncing Jeremy Rifkin of the Beyond Beef campaign as an “ecopest”: “Rifkin is bent out of shape because he says the cattle consume enough grain to feed hundreds of millions of people. The reason the cattle are eating the grain is so they can be fattened and slaughtered, after which they will feed people, who need a high protein diet.” (Ought To Be, p. 110)

REALITY: Sixteen pounds of grain and soy is required to produce one pound of edible food from beef (USDA Economic Research Service). As for needing a “high-protein diet,” the World Health Organization and U.S. Department of Agriculture recommend that from 4.5 percent to 6 percent of daily calories come from protein. The amount of calories from protein in rice is 8 percent; in wheat it’s 17 percent (USDA Handbook No. 456).

LIMBAUGH: “Do you know we have more acreage of forest land in the United States today than we did at the time the constitution was written.” (Radio show, 2/18/94)

REALITY: In what are now the 50 U.S. states, there were 850 million acres of forest land in the late 1700s vs. only 730 million today (The Bum’s Rush, p. 136). Limbaugh’s claim also ignores the fact that much of today’s forests are single-species tree farms, as opposed to natural old-growth forests which support diverse ecosystems.

Brotherhood…and Sisterhood

LIMBAUGH: “The videotape of the Rodney King beating played absolutely no role in the conviction of two of the four officers. It was pure emotion that was responsible for the guilty verdict.” (Radio show, quoted in FRQ, Summer/93)

REALITY: “Jury Foreman Says Video Was Crucial in Convictions”, read an accurate Los Angeles Times headline the day after the federal court verdict (4/20/93).|

Rush wasn't elected to anything.  Obama was.  Obama lied out of his teeth, on purpose, intently tried to pull the wool over the American Citizens.  He lied bluntly to our faces.  You can keep your doctor.  You can keep the insurance you have.  Your costs will go down on average $2500 a year.  All lies.   All contrived lies.  He didn't just get his facts wrong...he made it up out of whole cloth because his agenda was to get the country to Single Payer.

So all of your debunking Rush fell on deaf ears...but the lies out of the mouth of Barrack...they are etched in concrete for all time.

And so I rest my case.

A. the fact Trump has been caught lying on somany occasions it makes Obama look like a choirboy, yet Obama is 'a liar', Trump isnt (relevancy of lying removed from Trump, boosted for Obama);

B. the fact you think Obama's lies were intent to 'pull the wool over the American Citizens eyes', but Trump's arent somehow (intent of lying; Trump only has the best interests of 'The People' at heart when lying, Obama opposite);

C. the fact you follow individuals instead of your own critical thought, thinking by cirumventing the MSM while fanatically supporting individuals who are thought to 'tell the truth', you have somehow attained a superior position to 'know whats going on' (monopoly on truth);

D. Last but certainly not least: the fact you immediately and categorically disregard any verifiable critique and/or debunking of the lies any of those personal hero's - those you 'follow' - only to focus on those you focus on as your perceived enemy (while those you so vehemently support could just as well fit that category, yet are fanatically, irrationally regarded as all but infallible) - (denial of any faulty behaviour / untruths coming from said personal hero's).

I apologize, but these are the earmarks of a heavily conditioned human being fanatically supporting their hero(s). No one should ever support any human being in the way you do with Rush and Donald. Your boasting in regards to the fact you dont listen / watch MSM doesnt tell me anything. If you cant acquire any semblance of critical thought to any of the information that reaches your person by any of the channels and/or opinionleaders, youre still ****ed. And sadly, you seem to fit that scenario pretty nicely.

Trumpist Disclaimer: Just to be abundantly clear; I am no Obama supporter, nor Clinton H, Bush, Clinton B, or Trump.. Nor am I a leftist snowflake, or a Russian Lovin' Commie. I am also not a social welfare leech, or a Mexican immigrant. The difference between you and me is I weigh any content of any individual on its merits, I have no hero's, no champions I emotionally invest or adhere to (like a fan). Especially, especially a golden spoon fed elitist/corporatist caricature of a human being like Trump claiming to ´drain the swamp´ while doing the exact opposite (..change! 2).
