Eldorado Posted August 5, 2018 #1 Share Posted August 5, 2018 Venezuela’s president, Nicolás Maduro, has survived an apparent assassination attempt after what officials described as drones armed with explosives detonated overhead during a speech he was making at a military event. The drones, according to officials, were flown towards Maduro as he addressed soldiers in Caracas on Saturday. Mid-speech, Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, looked up at the sky and winced after hearing the sound of an explosion. The drones did not reach him, officials said, but it was not clear if they were shot down or exploded prematurely. Seven people were injured, the country’s information minister said. Considering this took place at a speech to the military this seems to be the most viable possibility. Surely it must be becoming clear to many in the Country that the problems they are suffering are caused by the Chavez/Maduro socialist polices and not some grand conspiracy by the US. skliss Posted August 7, 2018 #9 Share Posted August 7, 2018 My son showed me video of the actual drone exploding. It looked like a very small explosion. I doubt it would have killed the guy unless it exploded right next to him and I can't see how it would ever have gotten that close. Not sure if its true or not but I read/heard somewhere yesterday that the Military Jammed the drones and that is why they were not able to make it to Maduro. I don't know about that, all I'm saying is the explosion itself didn't look very impressive. It's pretty much standard practice for the Secret Service and other protection type agencies to incorporate into their strategies. Edit: skliss is there a video showing the actual exposion? The videos I've seen do not show it but people reacting.
