Rare spider discovered at UK nature reserve

An exciting discovery has been made this summer at a Cheshire Wildlife Trustnature reserve.

Arachnologist Richard Burkmar discovered a special tiny jumping spider, just half the size of a matchstick head, during a survey visit to the Cheshire bog at Holcroft Moss Nature Reserve in Warrington.

His discovery turned out to be a rare Sibianor larae – a species never recognised before in the UK.

I LOVE spiders!   Jumping spiders in particular are great fun because they will repeatedly jump at you ..... they have no fear. They honestly think they can drive you away.

Spiders don't bother me, I think they are rather fascinating.
