Would anyone wait 40 years to report that their car was stolen?

Thats a terrible analogy

The "why did they wait" thing has become a non issue to me. Why did they wait? Because they werent having their attacker beamed into their living room 24/7 for the last 40 years.

That kind of an assault can really mess a person up for a lifetime , i deal with it in my personal life all the time with family, I cant imagine how bad it would affect my wife to see her attacker on TV 20 years after she was raped - an assault she did not report.

Hell im not even saying Kavanaugh is necessarily guilty just that I dont see a reason to not hear her out.

Another woman has come forward with an accusation against Kavanaugh

Senate Democrats Investigate a New Allegation of Sexual Misconduct, from Brett Kavanaugh’s College Years

Quote

As Senate Republicans press for a swift vote to confirm Brett Kavanaugh, President Trump’s nominee to the Supreme Court, Senate Democrats are investigating a new allegation of sexual misconduct against Kavanaugh. The claim dates to the 1983-84 academic school year, when Kavanaugh was a freshman at Yale University. The offices of at least four Democratic senators have received information about the allegation, and at least two have begun investigating it. Senior Republican staffers also learned of the allegation last week and, in conversations with The New Yorker, expressed concern about its potential impact on Kavanaugh’s nomination. Soon after, Senate Republicans issued renewed calls to accelerate the timing of a committee vote.

The first accuser's story has basically already sunk with all the holes in it and "witness" accounts saying it never happened, so the Democrats are doing they do best and doubling down on a losing strategy.  That's assuming they try and push this story as a way to stall for another few weeks before another "accuser" comes forward a week or so after that all the way into November which they might not.

Quote

She was at first hesitant to speak publicly, partly because her memories contained gaps because she had been drinking at the time of the alleged incident. In her initial conversations with The New Yorker, she was reluctant to characterize Kavanaugh’s role in the alleged incident with certainty. After six days of carefully assessing her memories and consulting with her attorney, Ramirez said that she felt confident enough of her recollections to say that she remembers Kavanaugh had exposed himself at a drunken dormitory party, thrust his penis in her face, and caused her to touch it without her consent as she pushed him away. Ramirez is now calling for the F.B.I. to investigate Kavanaugh’s role in the incident. “I would think an F.B.I. investigation would be warranted,” she said.

...

Ramirez acknowledged that there are significant gaps in her memories of the evening

...

after several days of considering the matter carefully, she said, “I’m confident about the pants coming up, and I’m confident about Brett being there.”

...

The article then goes on to list witnesses at the party who deny the event ever happened and other classmates who heard a rumor that it did happen, but weren't there.

Now to be fair getting drunk and flashing a bunch of other admittedly drunk people at a party over 30 years ago at 18 is a lot more believable than the last accusation, but hardly something worth "investigating" or trying to use to block his nomination.

Quote

In a statement, two of those male classmates who Ramirez alleged were involved in the incident, the wife of a third male student she said was involved, and three other classmates, Dino Ewing, Louisa Garry, and Dan Murphy, disputed Ramirez’s account of events: “We were the people closest to Brett Kavanaugh during his first year at Yale. He was a roommate to some of us, and we spent a great deal of time with him, including in the dorm where this incident allegedly took place. Some of us were also friends with Debbie Ramirez during and after her time at Yale. We can say with confidence that if the incident Debbie alleges ever occurred, we would have seen or heard about it—and we did not. The behavior she describes would be completely out of character for Brett. In addition, some of us knew Debbie long after Yale, and she never described this incident until Brett’s Supreme Court nomination was pending. Editors from the New Yorker contacted some of us because we are the people who would know the truth, and we told them that we never saw or heard about this.”

Thought I'd jump in.  Whatever happened to 'Innocent until proven guilty'?  If she is telling the truth then her statements should remain consistent, but if she says one version, and then gives another version, we can easily tell she is not telling the truth.  After all, it is easy to remember the truth, and much harder to remember a lie.  Is it true that she will not swear an oath to speak to truth?

We have two accusers and many who were there and say these incidents didn't happen.  Why is it so easy to believe the two and so hard to believe the many?

Michael Avanati has taken on a third woman as a client who also alleges misconduct by Kavanaugh and Judge.

If they want to keep Kavanaugh fine, but let the investigations begin.

The Senate has known all along about these skeletons. They've been pushing to move fast on a vote because they know these are out there. And, the Democrats have known for a long time too.

If you read other sources, you'll also read that Kavanaugh apparently has quite a drinking problem and random non political people who drink with him at local bars are starting to chatter as well. Dude is unsuitable. They better find someone else.

Nothing about Kavanaugh's confirmation is about "Innocent until proven guilty". This isn't a criminal trial... it's an interview for a job promotion. Although, his idiot decision to not withdrawal from the confirmation  process weeks ago might actually cost him is circuit court job now. Bad judgement ironically.

Well, ditch him or not. This second accuser that's now come forward (which I didn't expect) has basically put the nail in the mans coffin (so to speak)....

Whether this individual is guilty or not of these allegations...well, 'the seed of doubt' has now been truly planted in the collective mindset of the general public etc...

No matter in whether he is guilty or not of such past behaviours... the damage has already been done anyway to his reputation.

It would be nice if President Trump kept his insinuations and derogatory comments to himself. He's not being very helpful to the Republicans and everyone else involved in this matter. And some of us in the public are starting to feel alienated by him from his comments towards Ford, because some of us have been through similar experiences like she has or even worse. He was doing good keeping his comments to a positive minimum a couple of weeks, but then he failed and started in on her. Not good. :td:

I completely expected it. There's also a third woman who has retained Michael Avanati her accusation is against Kavanaugh and Judge.

The entire Senate (at the very least) has known about a bunch of women and bad behavior for a long time. I knew Kamala Harris and Macie Hirono knew something by the weird the questions they were asking  in the initial confirmation hearings. I think Senate democrats and republicans have been playing chicken for a long time with this one. There's a reason the Federalist Society didn't have Kavanaugh on their initial list. There's a reason McConnell didn't want Kavanaugh in the first place. This was all evident during the confirmation hearings. We just didn't know what it was exactly. And, now we know. The women were telling the truth and the committee have all known it for a while. it's just another example of how incompetent Donald Trump really is. LOL.

President-Elect Acidhead

I've got some sources that have details on the next Kavanough accusation.

Apparently, while Kavanough was still in high school, his parents left him alone at his house for over a week. Kavanough proceeded to find an escort listing in the local paper and had the escort come to his parents' mansion.

The escort's name is "Lana" and she and Kavanough conspired to turn his parents' house into a brothel, matching all of her hooker friends with Kavanough's rich, entitled, preppy friends.

Court documents show the Kavanough did wreck his father's Porsche sports car, landing it in a lake after being chased by Lana's pimp, "Guido". The Porsche dealership dubbed him a "U Boat Commander" for flooding the vehicle.

Kavanough even conducted one college interview in the middle of a brothel party, which some say led to his acceptance at Yale.

I demand the FBI investigate this.

John Oliver Goes Off on Trump, GOP, and Fox News Over Kavanaugh Defenses

A good piece by Oliver but it was the Jeanine Pirro bit in it which made me post it here. Watching her raving lunacy the realization hit me "the man with control over our nuclear arsenal takes advise from this woman"

Another aspect to this is how Men & Women are driven apart by this #meToo campaign. Divide and Conquer, writ large.

Men are hesitating to go out to social functions with women, mentor them, or work with women at all due to the absolute power of False Accusations these days. This is from a month ago, before anyone had heard of Ford .... except for Senator Fineswine;

Is free association between men and women a thing of the past? Will a more Islamic social norm be the rule from now on?

I notice gamers figure large in this Timcast.  They are not known for their mature relationships. This seems more like incels ineffectively  trying to punish women for lack of  access.

Men that are refusing to mentor women and be friends are those that might have wanted reciprocal favors from mentoring.

Mentoring is like being a sensei  in martial arts.  Somebody trusts you and follows your instruction sometimes without knowing what the outcome will be,  You are responsible for their well being.  If you betray that trust by trying to take advantage of your student, you have no honor.

I have mentored 9 young male engineers and 4 females.  They were professional, talented and willing to learn.   They can be funny and  dear.  The secret is, they have boyfriends or husbands, they are not looking for any relationship beyond friendship. If you have honor, you have no problem.  That is a good rule of thumb in most relationships.  I would imagine false accusations are pretty rare.

and then

Kavanaugh will be voted up and sworn in time for the next session of the SCOTUS.  I hope he hires investigators and ferrets out all the details possible on the probable conspiracy that is going on here.  Or maybe he can just let some friends and supporters hire a group of liars and con men to trash the reputations of everyone that has come forward.  Not to worry, they will provide at least as much proof and evidence as his accusers have done.  :w00t:

I'm guessing he'll walk away from this nomination before Thursday. There will be no testimony.

If anything Avenatti is saying is true, or in any way corroborated, he would be a fool not to withdrawal.

It's like the republican party WANTS to be knows as the party of misogyny, rape, sexual harassment, and child molesters.

I think he's a fool for not withdrawing weeks ago. Now, there's a possibility he could lose his Circuit Court job.

And if the *snip* lawyer is just a liar working as part of a plan to take an honorable man down?  THEN what?  Or maybe you've seen some proof of what he's said to have done?  Those who would see this man destroyed without proof are disgusting hypocrites, IMO.  Hypocrites because they would NEVER agree that it was justice if THEY were treated in the same way.  NEVER.
