I have an old digital camera which has always picked up "orbs". I took this pic out my garden a couple of weeks ago and this strange white light showed up. There was no cobwebs etc on the fence as I immediately checked, plus, every other pic I took after this was fine. There is a reason I took the pic but don't want to say why incase it sways anyone.

What do you want me to say? It's a ghost, a demon, angel? Aliens???

If the reason you took the picture was to maybe capture an image of someone or something (like a pet) you lost. Then my condolences.

What the hell is the attitude for??? I only stated the others came out fine! What a fabulous welcome that was!

You put it in bold. If the other pictures came out fine, then you most likely got a pic of something in the air. Like I said, a spider web probably.

The way the light reflects from this hair or web shows that it's very close to the lens. So it's physical for sure.

That's Xeno on a good day, when his eyes doesn't roll out of his head, and he actually stays on subject! :D

You haven't seen me on a bad day yet. Don't get your hopes up too much.

Hair, web, maybe a thread from a shirt caught in the wind.

Let's flip this around. Deansgirl, what do you think it is?

I see attitude from you...?

As said, you bolded your response and dismissed the explanation (which is probably right) - and your claim it isn't on other pictures could mean anything from the hair having moved, to the camera being focused at a different distance (or used a different aperture setting) where the object was blurred so far it could no longer be seen, even down to different lighting where the thing wasn't illuminated.

It seems that maybe you don't want to consider alternatives - yet that is what explaining 'mysteries' is all about.  Turns out, many are not really mysterious at all, if you learn about how things (like cameras and lenses) work.

How much time was there between the photos ?

Unless it was taken with a very high speed camera, it would seem most likely that this was something that was blown outside the field of view between shots. This fit very well with something like a hair or a piece of cobweb.

It could be paranormal. It seems as though there should be some specialists in photo analysis for paranormal effects  but I don't see them on this forum. As you can see the most prolific members here don't believe in the paranormal period so you would get thumbs down on the greatest ghost photo ever, LOL.

It's already been explained quite easily in the very first replies within minutes of the question being asked. Your quest and thirst for something, (almost anything) paranormal reeks of desperation. Especially on something as menial as this.

Hi there Deansgirl,

Hmmm... tell me a little about the picture. How far was the camera away from the fence, and - if you recall - what was the zoom setting (if any). ?

Don't take things so seriously....people are just trying to let you know what they think it is.

No Stiff   :P

What? I have seen no explanation just different speculations on possibilities but certainly no established explanation.  How desperate is that to call 'case-closed' immediately??

Back at you. :P Are you saying this could not be paranormal? Sounds to me like my comment was just common sense. It is certainly odd normal at the very least.

Anyway, I think people here are trying to create a culture that even considering the paranormal is outrageous. And the forum is called Unexplained Mysteries, go figure.

As there is nothing "paranormal" in the universe at all, there is nothing that could be "paranormal". Of course, there are still some things we cannot explain yet but they will be explained in future, but none of the answers will be connected with "paranormal". And, a fuzz on an image is what it is, a fuzz, even if some ppl think they captured something "paranormal".

That is really just wordplay. Certainly I believe the colloquial term 'paranormal' is part and parcel of a greater understanding of the normal. For example, I call 'ghosts' paranormal but I believe they operate in accordance with their normal realm of reality which is part of the expanded (grander) version of normal.
