The left already is ignoring it. I couldn't find any left leaning mainstream media sights covering the story. But USA today covered it.

Project Veritas released clips from their undercover videos with Schubel on Sept. 19. The video also featured Justice Department employee Alison Hrabar, who told an undercover reporter that she and other federal employees have been plotting resistance against the Trump administration from within. She also described what appeared to be an illegal use of government resources for her political activities.

Hrabar is a member of the DC Metro chapter of Democratic Socialist of America (DSA). Project Veritas infiltrated the organization and secretly filmed some of its members.

On Sept. 18, Veritas released a video showing State Department employee Stuart Karaffa boasting about how he routinely conducts political work for DSA during his work hours. The State Department responded by saying that it’s looking into the matter.

The NYT op ed could have been faked for all we know. These people however are actually on camera potentially incriminating themselves as government employees. Former Congressman Chaffetz could explain the Deep State better and the Obama connection in post #1.

After watching the  videos it looks like these people are corroborating the op-ed.

The NYT Op Ed was just something somebody typed up and refused to put their name too. ANYone could have written that, including the fringe kook racist that the NYT got in trouble for hiring a few weeks ago.

YOU could have written it, or Me.

These clips show named people with verifiable positions in the Govt saying very specific things in their own words that proves the point of the OP.... and that point is very different from anything said by that Anonymous column against Trump.

 

Either you want to fight corruption on the massive scale that has existed there for Years, or you want to support it.

Correct me if I am wrong:  I think the deep state refers to un- appointed and un-elected long term career government employees.  Being bureaucrats, they have a lot of ability to alter or  change the pace of laws enacted by Congress or the President.   Maybe they even have the ability to stonewall those laws.  Is that correct?

These folks in the press lately:  Rosenstein, and the anonymous  opinion writer, even Mueller  are all appointees of the current President or his staff..    I don't think they qualify as deep state.

President Trump appointed Rob as Deputy Attorney General.  They are not deep state because   hey serve at the pleasure of the President.  All of the Cabinet and all of the West Wing, although Kelly or somebody probably hired a lot of them.  By definition, there are no Deep State people in the President's Cabinet, he appointed them all.  Advisers, he appointed most or got referrals.   Maybe Deep State stenographers  or clerks, but a President largely brings in his own staff.  

I don't know why I am nit picking, except that if his own appointees are plotting against him, that is quick to come out and resolve.

And an "if" is often tricky. 

There must be hundreds of people working in the Whie House, vs. tens of thousands inside the beltway and hundreds of thousands elsewhere. 

 

The real problem is how the Republican party has broken faith with the voters and joined the Dems in subverting Trump every time they could get away with it. With the help of the GOP, cleaning up a major part of the corruption would be possible, and it would be effective. However, that party is looking just as miserable and moribund as the Democrats once any of them have spent about 18 months inside Babylon on the Potomac. 

People KNOW that, that's why Trump blew right past 16 other candidates. 

And its not a matter of Trump being a temporary blip. An actual clearing of the swamp is the last chance the US Government has to show that it is still a representative form of Government, and thus worthy of the trust (or at least the respect) of the people in this country.
