I've not watched it but by the premise you describe, I wouldn't find it offensive in any way. In much the same way that I wouldn't find it offensive if it were switched round to any other nationality.

Apparently this is why French hate the English.

I know nothing about, Waterloo, or Agincourt.

But I can see where they are coming from regarding invention robbing,

Can't really see the issue with Dunkirk, I'd more thinking of Operation Ariel where the Allied Forces ran away and left the French to the Germans.

 

Just goes to show we can all get along fine. If we are able to take the p*** out of ourselves.
