Attributing danger or pain to the paranormal/supernatural is a trick often used by religious people, in an attempt to be taken more serious by their sceptic peers.

An example of this is often seen when it comes to spirituality, where devoted Christians often warn people about contacting the realm of spirits through ouija-boards or tarot-cards, saying that "it's very dangerous" due to the malicious demons pretending to be the spirits of the dead, and can "lead to demonic possession".
By stressing the danger of demons lurking, they imply the reality of their existence, which naturally suggests the reality of God, Jesus, angels and finally: The need to submit to the faith they are advocating!

In the example of this thread, the authors mere pain and frustration of a life long extrasensory, involunteer peek into the future, suggests it is very real and calls for extraordinary (supernatural) measures of help in order to be relieved from this very real burden.

Furthermore: He made no attempt, at any time, to elaborate anything. Probably because there is nothing to elaborate.
