Still Waters Posted October 7, 2018 #1 Share Posted October 7, 2018 A jogger running through a field in the central Netherlands got a surprise on Sunday when an abandoned lion appeared on the route. The cub - which is believed to be four months old - was found in a small cage outside of Utrecht. It was taken to the Lion Foundation in the northern Netherlands after being examined by a vet, according to public broadcaster NOS. "Between all the hectic, the little one is entertaining himself well, eating and drinking well and still sleeping a lot", the foundation said. The foundation named the cub Remy. On Wednesday the foundation's veterinarian will give Remy a thorough medical check-up, as well as his vaccinations. Remy can be "adopted" on the foundation's website from Tuesday. paperdyer Posted October 10, 2018 #7 Share Posted October 10, 2018 Maybe the cub was stolen or smuggled into the country and the people decided they didn't want the cub or were worried about being caught with the cub. At least they just didn't set it loose. Still with no food or water the cub couldn't have lasted long.
