Migrant caravan to US grows to over 1500

A growing group of more than 1,500 Honduran migrants headed for the United States moved toward the Guatemalan border on Sunday, witnesses and organizers said.

The migrants, who included families of adults and children, and women carrying babies, began a march on Saturday from the violent northern city of San Pedro Sula, days after U.S. Vice President Mike Pence called on Central America to stop mass migration.

The U.S. Embassy in Honduras said it was deeply worried about the group and that people were being given “false promises” of being able to enter the United States.

The organizer of a migrant caravan from Honduras was detained on Tuesday in Guatemala after U.S. President Donald Trump threatened to withdraw funding and aid from Honduras if the flow of migrants north to the United States was not stopped.

Lets see, a mass migration out of no where, that will get here just before the elections, that will cause separation of families,  the Left leaning political elite and MSM to go up in arms and Republican candidates pressed on their position to hurt them while Democrat candidates use it as a weapon to rally their supporters.

Just a coincidence?

I think not!

Mexico has our backs.

WashPo :tu:

Quote

Mexico’s government says people in a caravan of Honduran migrants headed for the U.S. will be treated the same as anyone else entering the country: That means those with proper documents can enter and those who don’t either have to apply for refugee status or face deportation.

In a joint statement Wednesday, Mexico’s Foreign Relations and Interior Departments said that anyone in the caravan with travel documents and a proper visa will be allowed to enter, and anyone who wants to apply for refugee status can do so.

But the statement said all cases must be processed individually, suggesting that authorities have no intention of letting the migrants simply cross the border en masse without going through standard immigration procedures.

It warned that anyone who enters Mexico in an “irregular manner” faces detention and deportation.

That should put a damper on the strategically timed caravan.

They must have seen how successful the Syrian (and all) refugee invasion into Europe was and thought it might work across the US border.  I got a feeling the "welcoming" committees may have different perspectives on the situation. :P

Considering the many, many problems Mexico has to deal with, I think they do their fair share in stopping flow of illegal immigrants North. It's never been an open door policy.

2015: 181,163

2016 : 147,370

And that's pretty much the average over the last 10 years.

I'm glad the Administration is threatening to cut of foreign aid money to these countries that are allowing this. I'd like to see an even harsher Policy where we charge these countries for every red cent we spend apprehending and deporting these illegal migrants and whatever money we have to spend on them while they are here before deportation.

He is ascribing intent to an action without any evidence to back it up.

The assumption is that they were being paid to be in the caravan and not that they received funds to help them during their trip.

Migrants?  Refugees?  Convenient political patsies?  I say refugees.

If they don't try to cross illegally there will be no need to separate them.  If they go through legitimate channels this is a non-story

The U.S has been pretty lenient towards illegal Mexican immigration when they are caught compared to Mexico itself. Here's how Mexico handles illegal immigration. This article was from 2010 so I am not sure how it has changed, but it shows you how the world responds to our illegal immigration, yet ignores theirs. We are the bad guys, naturally.

Mexican President Felipe Calderon has accused Arizona of opening the door “to intolerance, hate, discrimination and abuse in law enforcement.” But Arizona has nothing on Mexico when it comes to cracking down on illegal aliens. While open-borders activists decry new enforcement measures signed into law in “Nazi-zona” last week, they remain deaf, dumb or willfully blind to the unapologetically restrictionist policies of our neighbors to the south.

The Arizona law bans sanctuary cities that refuse to enforce immigration laws, stiffens penalties against illegal alien day laborers and their employers, makes it a misdemeanor for immigrants to fail to complete and carry an alien registration document, and allows the police to arrest immigrants unable to show documents proving they are in the U.S. legally. If those rules constitute the racist, fascist, xenophobic, inhumane regime that the National Council of La Raza, Al Sharpton, Catholic bishops and their grievance-mongering followers claim, then what about these regulations and restrictions imposed on foreigners?

Illegal entry into the country is equivalent to a felony punishable by two years’ imprisonment. Document fraud is subject to fine and imprisonment; so is alien marriage fraud. Evading deportation is a serious crime; illegal re-entry after deportation is punishable by ten years’ imprisonment. Foreigners may be kicked out of the country without due process and the endless bites at the litigation apple that illegal aliens are afforded in our country (see, for example, President Obama’s illegal alien aunt — a fugitive from deportation for eight years who is awaiting a second decision on her previously rejected asylum claim).

To be fair that does indicate that someone is paying money to these people to enable it to happen, right?

What kind of circular reasoning is this? Do you have evidence that some random dudes were handing out their life savings out of good will to an Army of Illegal migrants?

There is even a term for what is being done here, it is called "Social Change Through Crisis Management".

This is so reminiscent of the Gaza Flotilla & Flotilla II.  No doubt the same backers as the caravan…
