don't know, but i'm 100% sure they do not fall under migrants or refugees.  as far as congress, who cares, they will twist any definition the way it fits them.  bush did not even need them to star Iraq invasion, pretty sure Trump does not need them to stop one in our own country

Bush had a panicked and scared country behind him. Trump doesn't have a unifying national disaster to take advantage of. He has a deeply divided country and a lot of media working against his every move

Its unreal what's about to happen. I hope these people listen to reason once they get here. They're going to face our Army, our border patrol and probably a bunch of self appointed minute men. I'll be shocked if nobody dies.

it is a national security and social issue, and i have no doubt more Americans agree with trump on this one, that not.

i mean read any article from pretty any website about it, and read comments,  there is barely anyone who does not agree this caravan needs to be stopped, border secured, and these people knowingly committing a crime, whatever happens it is no them, not trump.

they already showed they are willing to use weapons against border guards.

Military to Deploy 5,000 Troops to Southern Border

The new figure is a major increase from initial estimates of 800 troops and would represent a military force equal to about one-third the number of customs officials currently working at the border. The military sent about 2,000 National Guard troops to the area earlier this year.

“This is an invasion of our Country and our Military is waiting for you!” President Trump wrote on Twitter on Monday morning, without directly mentioning troop numbers.

We had the benefit of watching it happen to the EU first so we know what's coming. We know what the narrative is and to some extent, what to expect. When the EU's migrant sob story turned out to be a crock of ****e, a lot of people here took note and they won't be fooled. This could be a pivotal moment in history akin to Trump's election in 2016. No doubt some American citizens will be sacrificed to the system for trying to defend the border but I can't say what will happen if hundreds or thousands of them are involved. Especially with the army right there on "stand by" orders.

Is the army there to assist border patrol or prevent citizens from being cowboys?

Migrants break through Guatemala border gate that leads to Mexico

More than a hundred Central American migrants have forced their way through a customs gate at the Guatemalan border town of Tecun Uman to request passage into Mexico.

A Mexican official said Sunday that the group is seeking entry via Ciudad Hidalgo, Mexico.

As far as I'm concerned these "migrants" gave up refugee rights when they rejected Mexico's offer of sanctuary.  Send the military in to stop the invasion at the southern border.

Why wear the masks? I think we all know the answer. Time to stop virtue signaling cause criminals won't care what you said on the internet. Mexico has the power to really slow this down - will they?

Edit to add--

I expected poor migrants to look a little more...destitute? Those are some nice jeans and sneakers, kids.

These people have said to America "We are coming whether you like it or not."

These people have said to Mexico "We are passing through your country whether you like it or not."

These people have rejected asylum in Mexico.

They know once they make it past our border (doubtful) that it would be deemed "racist" or "profiling" to ask if they are in the country illegally.

They know that once they make it to a sanctuary city they are safe, because the liberal way has encouraged this. When there is no recourse asked of them, who wouldn't want to come here illegally?

Living on social services paid for by others, all the while as someone who is in this country illegally.

The world is full of poverty and people migrate here all the time legally to have a better life. Their situation is no more dire than those elsewhere in this world legally seeking a better life.

Tens of thousands are apprehended trying to cross our southern border every month, usually in smaller groups.

However, If this caravan is not stopped, expect hundreds of thousands over the next year or two in large caravan groups . They feel that numbers cannot be stopped.

This could get crazy. Whens the first batch due to arrive? I'm guessing Monday right in time to kick of the news cycle the day before the elections.

They are expected to make the closest Mexico US border around October 18.

Apparently still weeks away.

You mean November 18? It said within that as of today they are 1000 miles from the US. Given all the vehicular help they've been having that puts them on a pretty good pace to arrive within a week.

These people aren't trekking 3 or 4 thousand miles on foot through hot central America. How many thousands of bottles of water per day? At least one per person. Meals? At least one of something substanial per person each day. I don't think wild game and natural springs/water purification are the method of survival here.

The issue of illegal migrants is real. This '' Caravan ' is nothing but a media circus and staged for political purposes. I can't believe that everyone IS believing the hype. Chuck D  is shaking his head right now. The majority of the caravan disbanded last year after the protests in Mexico City. You guys have your border well protected and reinforcements are on the way. You can all sleep tight IMHO.

F3SS.....it's a show.  These are the people who feed and care for the migrants in everyday reality. No political agenda.

Update:

Mexico City sends 47-vehicle aid brigade to support first migrant caravan.
The brigade consists of 300 personnel to attend to migrants' needs and accompany the caravan to Mexico City.

"Over 300 government officials from Mexico City left their desks yesterday to offer assistance to the caravan of Central American migrants now traveling through Oaxaca.

Mayor José Ramón Amieva Gálvez and mayor-elect Claudia Sheinbaum saw them off as they hit the road in 47 government vehicles.

The specialists in health, law enforcement and legal services will offer humanitarian aid to the caravan of an estimated 7,500 people who began crossing the border from Guatemala on October 19.

“The country faces an unprecedented emergency with relation to Central American migration. We have never seen a phenomenon of this nature,” said the city’s human rights chief, who was also on hand at the farewell party.

” . . . we must protect the migrants.”"

They don't want the responsibility of dealing with them. Not to mention the politics. Much easier just to help them along so they become America's problem.

Sorry, a small band of hospitable people is not feeding a massive crowd of 10,000.

From the link (translated,)

Quote

Over the years, Las Patronas have refined their offer for the hungry. With the help of donations, last July they delivered, in addition to staple foods, tuna, pineapples in syrup and biscuits to some 400 migrants who passed aboard The Beast .

The group known in networks simply as Las Patrona s now is "a collective made up of 14 women and two men without any profit motive and without any remuneration," the group said last July in a statement posted on Facebook.

@F3SS is right - these migrants would require a substantial amount of keesh just to sustain themselves. Not to mention the outside help we have seen. The EU migrant crisis was manufactured somehow and I believe this one is as well. There are people with the means and the will to fund it

In political jargon, a "useful idiot" is a derogatory term for a person perceived as a propagandist for a cause of whose goals they are not fully aware and who is used cynically by the leaders of the cause.

Barrack Obama and his administration were a modern-day national example of leaders who shaped many more Americans into useful idiots and made them susceptible to a radical socialist agenda that induced lawlessness, and even a new level of perversion that has infiltrated our nation. We've lost our moral compass. Confusion now marks our degenerated society.

Now in the latest controversy, people are telling us that it's un-Christian to close our borders to illegal immigrants. What? There is not one iota of Scripture in the entire Bible that says a nation must receive a horde of thugs crashing the border illegally so it can be a "Christian nation." Many of our leaders have become so open-minded their brains have fallen out. These are indeed new levels of stupid.

Whatever happened to basic common sense? Borders exist for security and protection of its citizens from its enemies who want to rape them and pillage them and live independently of the nation's laws.

Building a wall is more scriptural than any other brainless suggestion we are hearing. Walled cities existed in the Bible. All nations have borders because they are nations.

Why is this so hard to understand?

People who want to enjoy the benefits of America but not live according to its laws should never be allowed in. These lawless ones victimize thousands of people and never learn that the system they hate is the very source of their prosperity.

Hypocrisy and lawlessness at are an all-time high. Lawlessness must not be allowed to escalate. Enforcing laws solve all these problems.

They are not complicit. They are dealing with the crisis in a humanitarian way. You do realize this is a media show and demonstration, don't you? This is how they were complicit last Caravan ( translated)

The first countrymen return to Mexico with the Caravan of the Migrant, Summer 2017
June 19, 2017

Nuevo Laredo, Tamps.- This day, more than 200 vehicles of members of the "Caravan of the Migrant, Summer 2017", crossed Bridge 2 of this city, coming from the American Union, bound for Querétaro, San Luis Potosí, Michoacán, Guanajuato and Jalisco.

The flagship of the caravan was in charge of the National Institute of Migration (INM), the Tamaulipeco Institute for Migrants (ITM) and municipal authorities, as well as the Federal and State Police to escort the countrymen.

They stressed that the start of the caravan of people returning to Mexico was as planned, with registration modules, assistance on procedures and government services, tourist information and other, from 6:30 am on Monday.

The government of Tamaulipas committed to escort the transit of the Caravan in state territory, then transfer the security post to the Federal Police, who will accompany them to Jalpan de la Sierra in Querétaro, where they will be received with a popular verbena.

According to the INM, 90 percent of the vehicles that make up the caravan have the final destination Queretaro and at least 15 families who return in this caravan do so permanently, since they plan to permanently settle in the national territory.

You have a problem with that?

You guys do what you need to to secure your borders. You certainly have the resources. Just stop the constant whining that poor, marginalized people should follow the law that ensures they remain poor with unequal access to wealth and resources. They don't want to accept an inherently unfair and corrupt economic system and do not accept the law. Such it Up! You're the coolest show in town and many want a chance at it. Consider yourself very fortunate that the geographical location of your birth has given you this entitlement.

is that a justification to illegally come to my country and demand free things, disregard law that they do not like?  hell no . we do not owe them anything. we do owe ourselves secure border.  maybe their country is a shthole like that, exactly due to an attitude like that.

Yes, that was the last Caravan. And it is relevant because the results will be similar. The offer of amnesty was offered only if the migrants stayed in either Chia past or Oaxaca ( the poorest in the country). The majority want to settle further north and most eventually will. It's a problem for Mexico too. We just don't constantly whine about it. I
