What kind of circular reasoning is this? Do you have evidence that some random dudes were handing out their life savings out of good will to an Army of Illegal migrants?

Kinda. There are charities that work specifically with migrant caravans such as this

Who's Pueblo Sin Fronteras, the group behind the migrant caravan that drew Trump's ire?

I'll fully concede that they could have been paid to join the caravan as Rep. Getz claimed but the emphasis there is on could, conversely I also don't see any reason it  couldn't be a charitable organization helping the group with donations as they prepare to head out.

I envision that the activists that pass out money will befriend a few on the walk, playing on their hopes for a better life.  When the time comes, these activists will manipulate these marks to throw their lives away to create a scene for the cameras.  The Caravan, if it holds together, should arrive when?  The weekend before the midterms?  Wow, what timing…

To be fair that does indicate that someone is paying money to these people to enable it to happen, right?

Of course but breathlessly proclaiming they were paid to go without any actual facts is simply irresponsible. Especially in todays climate.

You saw the video! They sure as heck were not being paid to stay where they were or to go home! Open your eyes!

Yes I saw migrants all packed up and ready to go taking money.

That could have been pre arranged payment for joining the caravan as Getz chose to frame it, or it could have been a charity handing out money as the caravan prepared to leave.

Getting all wound up over a scenario that only truly exists in your mind doesnt do anyone any good and only leads to more panicked division and strife further harming the country.  (a lesson im trying really hard to re-implement in my own life)

I've been to Honduras a few times years ago and have an adopted sister from there. The main problem in Honduras was the Catholic Church ran the place. There were few educational opportunities, no infrastructure, and no birth control or ob/gyn services. From what I saw women dying in childbirth was common. Next, to Haiti, there were the highest child mortality rates in the region as well.

I'm not one to just slam the Catholic Church in general but there needs to be some criticism for what goes on with that church in some of these poor countries. In the main cathedral in Tegucigalpa, the entire interior of that church is covered in pure gold. It's said they take all the money from the poor and give nothing back. Then they forbid the women birth control or even doctors to help them deliver per the curse against Eve. So the country has been left with no opportunities or resources with a population explosion. Of course, they are going to seek opportunities elsewhere just like they have across the ocean with similar conditions. Desperate people do desperate things. That includes getting involved in the drug trade and gangs. It also includes migrating en masse to more prosperous countries as they have out of Scandinavia over the centuries and is happening now out of Africa, the Middle East, and now South America.

As for my sister from Honduras, she is a drop-dead gorgeous, hardworking, college educated, athletic, adventurous, all around American girl from Minnesota. She is a bright and shiny star and we would do well if there were millions more like her here and that is the God, honest truth. I've watched Americans turn cynical, mean, greedy, and nasty the past few decades. It's sad to say but maybe we need some better people to come here. I think more people just like her would do America a lot of good.

That's my .02, have a good night!

He's talking tough but the results are questionable

Record number of families crossing U.S. border as Trump threatens new crackdown

Just for perspective about the "new sheriff" and the necessity of the rhetoric

I think it´s safe to say that the majority of illegal migrants don´t give a damn about politics. They are doing it for economic reasons. I live in Mexico and the minimum wage here is about 5 bucks a day. And compared to Central American countries Mexico is considered a fat cat! As long as there is such economic inequality and no lack of real prospects to earn a decent living, people will continue to try to improve their lives. Sadly for most, that means leaving their country and moving Northward. That´s an economic reality. I think it´s human nature to want to improve your position and build a better life for yourself. I certainly don´t hold it against them. It´s the USA´s job to secure their border. As already pointed out in a previous post, Mexico does their fair share. The system is inherently unfair and some people aren´t willing to accept that based on where they were born.

Absolutely. This is the exact same as the Caravan last year and in previous years. I would expect any Charitable organization with an interest in human rights to be involved. It is being done to draw media attention to the many human rights abuses that happen daily.

I support a little girl in Honduras through World Vision and have done so for many years. I understand the plight people face in many countries, and that is my way of helping make the world a better place. I also support a child in Armenia. I wish many people would understand illegal immigration isn't the only alternative to many peoples woes..

The U.S. sends more than $100 million in foreign aid to Honduras each year, to make it so the people  should not need to illegally immigrate and you should not need to support a little girl there you are ready do though taxation, they should be fine.

What is being widely speculated is that the Honduran and Guatemalan governments are using some of this aid money to send their bottom rung  to the US which would mean we are financing illegal immigration into our own country.

Here is more suggesting this is no coincidence:

Illegal Caravans Encouraged by Honduras and Soros

Quote

Just in time for the midterms, another "spontaneous" migration from Central America began with a bevy of allegedly oppressed and downtrodden Hondurans leading the way.  Pressured by a threat from President Trump to cut aid to Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador if the caravan is not stopped, some moves by these governments have been made.  Yet evidence exists that these migrations are not spontaneous, with both of the governments in question encouraging them as a political and economic safety valve and a source of foreign currency, financed in part by foreign leftists with connections to George Soros.

You are doing a good thing helping people. I agree that illegal immigration isn't the only option but it might seem that way to poor, illiterate, peasant people, living in grass huts, and eating cockroach soup for dinner. Yes, I saw that with my own eyes. I'm just saying some of what drives illegal immigration might be based on a perception of no alternatives and desperation. I think employment and educational opportunities would help stem that perception as well as birth control. Getting a population under control could help a lot. It's no accident that countries with burgeoning populations are the ones spilling across borders and disrupting their neighbors.

How can you blame poor impoverished people for wanting a better life? That said, people in Central and South America almost always vote for Socialists leftists governments. Venezuela is a perfect example, they had a decent middle class and voted in a Socialist Government that promised them more and free services and it made them all feel better for about a decade and then the downhill slide started and they voted for more Socialism to help and they got it... They got free stuff and cheap stuff until the money started running out, and now they are at rock bottom. All the money is gone, all the people except those in Power are all equally poor! Then they migrate because they are starving and where ever they go be it other South and Central American Countries or the U.S. they still want Socialism and if given the right to they will vote for it again and again.

Immigration agents raid Texas business, detain 160 undocumented workers in surprise raid

USA TODAY NETWORKMark Smith, Jason Whitely, WFAA-TV, Dallas-Fort WorthPublished 1:28 p.m. ET Aug. 29, 2018 | Updated 3:36 p.m. ET Aug. 29, 2018

More than 300 federal agents descended on a North Texas trailer manufacturer on Tuesday that is accused of knowingly hiring 160 undocumented workers.

Agents from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) made the surprise execution of a criminal search warrant just before lunch at Load Trail which is located about two hours northeast of Dallas.

The agents, including some called in from New Orleans, Houston and San Antonio, arrived in vehicles, while also even landing in helicopters on Load Trail Trailer’s 100-acre facility in Sumner, Texas.

“I know I just heard helicopters everywhere and I saw a whole lot of people running and so I turned to run and the first corner I hit I got guns drawn down on me,” said Shawn Patterson, an employee.

Agents detained 160 undocumented workers as part of their investigation but did not make any criminal arrests, according to Katrina Berger, Homeland Security Special-Agent-in-Charge of Investigations.

STORY FROM NATURE'S WAY

The cultures and climates where these herbs grow best

Load Trail Trailers in Sumner, Texas, is considered one of the “fastest growing trailer brands." It builds trailers for pick-ups, not 18-wheelers, Berger added.

It’s the second time in four years that Load Trail Trailers has faced federal immigration scrutiny. In 2014, Load Trail agreed to pay a $444,993 fine for “knowingly hiring and continuing to employ unauthorized workers,” according to federal reports. The company employed 179 unauthorized workers at that time, the report said.

WFAA made repeated calls to Load Trail for response to the allegations but received no returned call or email.

Berger, who oversaw the search warrant execution Tuesday, said companies sometimes flout immigration law to attempt to gain an unfair advantage over competitors.

"Businesses that knowingly hire illegal aliens create an unfair advantage over their competing businesses," Berger said in a statement released by ICE. “In addition, they take jobs away from U.S. citizens and legal residents, and they create an atmosphere posed for exploiting their illegal workforce.”

“You (companies) may have gotten away with it,” Berger added. “But we’re watching and we’re coming.”

Berger said criminal arrests at the company could happen in the coming weeks as the investigation continues.

The company, which began as a family-owned business in 1996, has grown, now employing more than 500 people. The shop includes more than 420,000 square feet of facilities. The company also gained the award for the “Fastest Growing Trailer Brand of the Year” in 2014 and 2015, according to its website.

ICE established a 24-hour toll-free detainee locator hotline at 1-888-351-4024. The undocumented immigrants are being held at three detention centers – two in the Metroplex and one in Oklahoma.

If you really want to stop illegal immigration you end the source of jobs.  Now these good ol Texas boys are saying if they can't get Mexican workers in their plants, they will move their operation to Mexico because Americans don't want to work at the same jobs for the same pay.

We sure don't like illegals unless they are making us money I guess. If the caravan is just a little patient, maybe the jobs will come to them.

If they truly cared and really wanted to help these people they would help them in their own country not herd them like cattle to another country whose people have the right not to be burden by them.

These people are nothing but pawns in a political game, put on parade  to create a spectacle for the whole world,  they are simply a means to an end and that end is the systematic destruction of the US as we know it.

Update: Honduran refugee caravan crosses into Mexico through river.

About 2,000 Central Americans trying to reach the US in a “migrant caravan” have swam or rafted across a river separating Guatemala from Mexico, defying Mexican efforts to stop them at the border.

The refugees, who said they gave up trying to enter Mexico legally because the asylum application process was too slow, gathered on Saturday at a park in the border city of Ciudad Hidalgo. They voted by a show of hands to continue north en masse, then marched to the bridge crossing the Suchiate River and urged those still on it to join them.

“We are going to reach the United States,” said Erasmo Duarte, from Danlí, Honduras, despite warnings to turn back this week from the US president, Donald Trump, who has sought to make the caravan and border security into a campaign issue before the US midterm election in November.

Gee to bring in thousands and thousands of illegals to take over the jobs. Trump finally got the jobs for all our people to support their families. I sure hope the Democrats don't take over the congress or the presidency to allow the big migrations in.

Again, a touch of reality.  Read about recent  ICE raids in Texas trailer manufacturers.  They say they MUST employ illegals because Americans don't want to do the dirty dangerous jobs for what they pay. In fact one of them was so brazen as to say that if the Govt. didn't find a way to allow guest workers, they would move their plant to Mexico.

Some  down there in Texas don't like illegals, but people with money to spend and jobs to do seem to like them fine.   I will bet you  those business owners are not bleeding heart, snowflake Democrats, they are By-God stay out of our business and let us make money Republicans.
