They come to suck the cream.  THAT'S what they come for and Democrats and Republican politicians both love it.

You got that right.  Majority in House and Senate and the only thing we get is stuff to curb the legal side of immigration.  Harder to apply for refugee status, travel bans for certain groups, reduction in number of visas granted, complete elimination of certain visa types, etc.

Businesses love the lower wages liberals love the extra votes via fraud and census padding.

I like controlled borders, I like knowing who is coming into the country, not everybody should.  I don't need to make up silly reasons to justify that.  However, I think we need some  legal immigrant labor,  The machine that drove American industry and greatness has required immigrant labor for over 100 years.  It was Irish immigrants that dug the Erie Canal our first major transportation investment.  It was 20,000 Chinese starting in the West and 20,000 Irish starting in the East that built the transcontinental railroad.  The automobile plants, steel foundries and all other heavy manufacturing were manned with Eastern European immigrants.  Butte copper mines had miners from all over the world digging out the copper.   It was during World War I when the flow of European Immigrants halted that the mills and factories went South recruiting  Blacks to replace them.   All the while, braserios were picking the oranges and lettuce you eat.

Most of the world came here to work hard and build a good life.  They didn't show up and expect to freeload.  Same is true for Central and South America.  They have a strong work, family, and religious ethic.

American policy should not be driven by fear fueled for political purposes, logical analysis would be a lot better.  How many jobs and what skills do we need fill to keep the American Economy going strong?

Agreed. Except I'd say it applies much more to the wannabe news outlets like info wars than mainstream media.

That's because you don't understand what socialism actually means. That seems to be the case for most Conservatives in the US. You've been taught to equate socialism with communism. They are not the same thing. Which is why democracy and socialism are not mutually exclusive.

In the UK, we have socialism. We also have a representative democracy. In the US, you already have socialism to a lesser degree, you just don't recognise it.

The ratings for CNN, and the like, are almost at wannabe levels now.  I predict the socialist movement will spend itself out of existence. I know enough about socialism to say it's an expensive endeavour. Certain aspects of socialism are necessary,  But full blown socialism is to expensive because it always leads to corruption and mismanagement.

If you look you look up Democratic socialism, you'll see it calls for state controlled production, which replaces competition and innovation with political favouritism. Hence the contradiction I noted. Might as well say it's Democratic communism. It looks great on paper, but it's counter to human nature. If we were all ants, it would work.

their ratings have declined since 2016. However, that is set against MASSIVE gains on the run up to the election. (2015-2016). So CNN has merely returned to its pre-2015 levels ?

I do know that a lot of people are turning away from cable and satellite TV. I pick up 20 channels for free with my digital antenna. Add the Roku streaming device and it's all the TV I can stand for absolutely 0$ per month. I did however subscribe to Sling TV just because I can lol  I'd say you're right, I'll reaserach it later and see what comes up. I might have got it confused with late night television.

I've heard through the grapevine some of the people in the caravan have turned around. I wonder if all those young men in the caravan have had their vaccinations?

So the campaign running against Ted Cruise in Texas has been caught using campaign funds to help the refugee caravan coming through Mexico.

(Austin) Project Veritas Action Fund has released undercover video from current Congressman and US Senate candidate Beto O’Rourke’s campaign. The video exposes how his campaign staff appear to be illegally using campaign resources to buy supplies and help transport Honduran aliens. This is the eighth undercover video report Project Veritas has released in a series revealing secrets and lies from political campaigns in 2018.

Okay, posted this before watching more than a couple of minutes of the video.  This is really damning stuff.  One of the campaign field managers says "Like, borders are like soooo stupid.  Like nobody in the world is like, illegal, you know."

They take these prepaid credit cards and say they use them to buy food for campaign volunteers and then give it to people helping the refugees.  It's pretty blatant misuse of campaign funds.

According to Forbes they're hurtin for certain. https://www.forbes.com/sites/markjoyella/2018/05/30/fox-news-steamrolls-cable-news-competition-with-big-win-in-may-ratings/#7aec4cf03c7

Back on topic, I'm sure when they reach the border they'll be asked at some point how they got the money to make the journey.

Actually its not. The real story is they were using campaign funds to help migrants through a charity......ones who were already here NOT the migrant caravan that is inbound, and since it went through a charity it is not illegal

Did Beto O’Rourke’s Staff Use Campaign Money to Help Migrants in El Paso?

This story from Veritas is a classic example of "fake news"

Farmer, check your own facts, watch the video.  They explain it in their own words.

"Some that have already come over..blah blah blah..."

And regardless, the Beto campaign is illegally funneling campaign funds to help illegal aliens.  Don't see a problem with that?

God it gets old, lefties using fact checking sights that have a left agenda/spin.  Who facts checks the checkers?  The god dam idiots lay it right out for you to see and hear and you start googling incase  someone can make it better for your paradigm.

No. For one its not illegal since they are giving the funds to a charity/

Second , change the verbiage slightly : The Beto campaign is using campaign funds to help people in need. I dont have a problem with that regardless of their origin and neither does the law.

Yeah man I didnt need to google a fact checker. I read about this a couple of days ago and just couldnt find that article. I actually wish I could remember because it did a great job of showing how terribly edited and misrepresented the Veritas video is.

I’d have thought using election funds for anything other thsn electioneering would be frowned upon.

If the funds given to a charity help benefit the candidate then it is more then frowned upon. Of course nothing will come of it.

We have some friends that retired and moved to Roatan, an island belonging to Honduras.  They recently sent us an email.  I include excerpts here.  They are still building their home and part of the email refers to that process, but it reflects a bit of the general mindset of the locals which constitutes the body of the caravan.

"There is no welfare here, no food stamps, no free medical even if you're poor, hospitals and jails do not feed patients or inmates, there is no government housing, it costs a lot of money to get legal living status here as an immigrant, forget vehicle insurance, health insurance or any other thing that protects us in the states.  So even if they live pay check to pay check there, they still have it better then what they get here.  No wonder they want to stay.  Then they bring their mindless uneducated slovenly ways to the states and invade our well thought out infrastructure of cleanliness and well being  They are disgusting dirty unsanitary pigs and choose to live in swaller.   We're so discouraged and pretty fed up with it here.

We have a saying "learn to live with it or go home."  So many things I love about being here.  We haven't been to the beach for a really long time. The project  hasn't helped with our time to do anything else.  So much clean up and work with the workers here everyday.  They expect you to give them cold water so I washed out empty apple juice jugs and put water in the fridge and freezer, every day at least 4 of them.  Don't mind giving them water it just takes time to do all day long, a distraction as to getting other things done.  Or starting something then getting interrupted.  Thankful they did the job but it also had its drawbacks.  They are so messy when they do anything and don't clean up or organize stuff along the way.  They litter and drop stuff off wherever they are standing.  I kept asking them to pick it up.  For instance when they take nails out of boards they just leave them there.  Bend down and pick them up!!!!  We just put new tires on the truck and I told them I better not get a flat tire from the nails or I'm kicking some ass.  Even though they don't speak much English I think they got it.  Ha!  Pick up the nails and reuse them on the next phase of the project where they have to build forms to pour the cement.  They think we're made of money.  They have nothing but don't take care of anything.  They have no concept of value.  They live day to day.  They get paid every day yet they don't know how to save to pay their electric bill.  They spend it on coke-cola and crap instead of purchasing staple foods to make into something they can eat such as bars or cookies.  They buy crappy ****.  No education on how to do it nor do they have the capability to figure it out.  Undeveloped brains. President Trump's deploying armed American soldiers along the Mexican border should increase his popularity and by extension that of the Republican Congress, with the American public.  Hopefully this will be enough to enable the Republicans to maintain control of Congress, and maybe even pick up a few seats.

Do these 'friends' by any chance live somewhere in your brain?

They sound awfully like an unfiltered version of your usual bile.
