Eldorado Posted October 22, 2018 #1 Share Posted October 22, 2018 A sixth form has banned students from bringing bags to lessons after claiming they are injuring younger pupils. Spalding Grammar School in Lincolnshire told youngsters that they can use bags to bring kit and books from home, but must carry books to classes by hand. The ban was brought in as an edict claimed 'injury was being caused to younger students as a result of sixth formers carrying ever-larger bags on their shoulders'. The new rule states: 'Bags of any size may be used to bring books and kit to and from school, but bags are not permitted in lessons during the day. Pupils are encouraged to carry books by hand for a maximum of two lessons at a time.' But just days after the rule was enforced, sixth-former Hannah Catterall began a petition online and A-level student Jacob Ford protested the decision by using a microwave to carry his books between classes. The Caspian Hare Posted October 23, 2018 #3 Share Posted October 23, 2018 In addition to writing, humans have also recently invented the wheel... And why are kids still lugging so many books around in the age of smartphones and ereaders?
Oniomancer Posted October 23, 2018 #4 Share Posted October 23, 2018 So instead of cutting down on the bookload they cut down on the means to carry it. And I'll bet every teacher requires a separate notebook too.
