Musk's 150mph LA "loop" tunnel ready December

Elon Musk has come a step closer to creating a "loop" transit system beneath Los Angeles to bring an end to "soul-destroying traffic" in the city.

Taking to Twitter, the billionaire SpaceX founder said his underground tunnel for the project "is almost done" and will be ready on December 10.

In a follow-up tweet, a fan asked whether the December 10 opening was "in real time or Elon time?" and Musk replied "I think real."

The tunnel, which is being built by Musk's Boring Company, will contain autonomous electric skates capable of transporting cars and people at speeds of up to  125-150mph.

A 1.14 mile (1.8 kilometer) tunnel created by Elon Musk's Boring Company is unveiled as part of the billionaire's vision to have an underground network that cars, preferably Teslas, can be lowered to by lifts then slotted into tracks and propelled along at speeds up to 150 mph (241 kmh).

I think Musk's greatest contribution to the world is his ability to inspire others to see there CAN be a better way and to make them believe they're capable of developing it.  We are, after all. It just takes a desire.  Cities with a population in excess of a couple of million should probably try to restrict personal auto use.  The problem, as always, is $.
