Eldorado Posted October 23, 2018 #1 Share Posted October 23, 2018 A student had just two per cent chance of survival when he arrived at hospital after an initiation ceremony, an inquest has heard. Ed Farmer, 20, was taken to Newcastle Royal Infirmary at 5.45am on December 13 having drunk a significant amount of alcohol. When he arrived at hospital his clothes were soaked and part of his head had been shaved as part of an introduction to Newcastle University’s Agriculture Society. He had been part of a group of around 30 students who had been on a bar crawl where they were encouraged to drink more by older students. At one bar alone, 100 treble vodka and oranges were bought, amounting to two or three drinks each. +and-then Posted October 23, 2018 #3 Share Posted October 23, 2018 That's the same kind of drinking that killed John "Bonzo" Bonham so many years ago. Trying to drink strong liquor as you would beer is insane. 1
Setton Posted October 23, 2018 #4 Share Posted October 23, 2018 Somehow I don't think the agriculture society has a lot to do with agriculture. Every university has a fake society that's really just a drinking club. At Durham it was the Allotment society and pretty sure this is Newcastle's version.
