UM-Bot Posted October 24, 2018 #1 Share Posted October 24, 2018 Enough oxygen could exist within salty subsurface water on Mars to support oxygen-breathing microbes. https://www.unexplained-mysteries.com/news/322680/oxygen-on-mars-could-support-primitive-life
Carlos Allende Posted October 24, 2018 #2 Share Posted October 24, 2018 Microbes. Stopped Mars invading Earth in War of the Worlds. Now they're all that's left on Mars itself. Irony.
Jon the frog Posted October 24, 2018 #3 Share Posted October 24, 2018 So maybe Earth bacteria invaded Mars on not well sanitized probe and rover...
qxcontinuum Posted October 25, 2018 #4 Share Posted October 25, 2018 (edited) If they ever catalog existing microbes on Mars they will very likely find identical ones to those of the primordial Earth. Both planets started relatively close to each other in astronomical years. Too bad Mars has lost its atmosphere at some point in the past and all the evolution of Life disappeared with it Edited October 25, 2018 by qxcontinuum
